Forums - Gaming - Best developer in the world (and their best game) and why?

There is a part of me that wants to say Treasure because they had an almost perfect record and have released 3 near perfect games, Ikaruga being my fave.

But I'm going with Nintendo realistically, and I am picking Metroid Prime.

Capcom is the only other one that comes to mind that comes close to matching them in quality and quantity, DMC3 being the one I love the most.

Either Naughty Dog or Rockstar North and nobody else comes even remotely close.

One of them releases a game and the bar goes up a lot.

My favorite was Japan Studios, but they did not have the consistency in quality of those two studios, but were not afraid to try whatever they felt like. They did make the best game ever tho.

Valve Software before them, but they stopped releasing games. Naughty Dog and Rockstar North continued.

Before Valve ID software set the bar in the 90s.

And yep Japan Studios.

How epic would this be if it ever came true

I actually liked how some chars looked as asians, Rose looks amazing here, some definitely should keep the european look tho.

Nintendo EPD, formerly other classification names at Nintendo. The teams put out crazy amazing games like the Super Mario Galaxy duology and Super Mario Odyssey. And there are other IPs like Animal Crossing, Zelda, Mario Kart, and such.
If I end up thinking the new DK is a masterpiece, EPD might still be the best dev in the world currently.
P-Studio is one of the best in the world right now, with Persona 5 Royal and Persona 3 Reload as relatively recent highlights with Persona 4 Revival and the unannounced Persona 6 likely to be incredible.

I'm gonna throw in CD Projekt Red as well; while some of their games did launch in a rough state, Witcher 2, Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 are all amazing games now with rich worlds, deep roleplaying, and memorable storytelling.

Nintendo for sure. I just noticed again how they just have a talent to make games that are actually fun. I picked up Donkey Kong Bananza and Claire Obscure the other day. I only heard good things about Claire Obscure. But damn, the game takes freaking forever until it lets me actually play. I "played" for about an hour, but all I really did was pushing the analog stick forward and watch cutscenes. I mean, it wasn't bad or anything. But please respect my time a little, ok? I want to play something and I only have an hour a day for that, and that's on a good day.

I quit the game, played Donkey Kong and was right into the action. I got addicted pretty fast. The gameplay is superb. Something most other developers simply struggle to achieve and no Raytracing or epic story or whatever can make up for that. Nintendo is laser focused on gameplay and they nail it just about every time. Now which game would be the best, I don't know, there's too many to choose from.

I don't think the question makes sense without a timeframe. Blizzard have been the best at one point, so have Nintendo and arguably CD Projekt Red. It's hard to say who's best right now since there's so far between games though, my favorite games of the 20s are mostly from developers that have only made one game in that time.
