You're a better gamer than I. World 8 is just so damn difficult, way too much going on. Did you run through the whole 8 worlds or whistle your way there? I've been told not to whistle and do the body of the game, get good enough to bring as many lives as possible forward but it's such a daunting task.

When I played it the first time, I used the whistles.

My multiple playthroughs on NES , SNES and GBA versions I did every level.

The first time you play SMB3 on the NES all the way through without using the whistles in one sitting is the first time you realize its greatness. It's stunning. Absolutely stunning.

I rarely ever replay games except for a few, these days almost never. Metal Gears, Resident Evils, and The Uncharted games are rare exceptions. Already beat the RE4 remake 9 times back to back. Loved that game, and was pleasantly surprised how good it was when compared to the original. I generally recommend people to play both versions of the game.

I have real open world fatigue and once I get those platinum, the game goes in the case and on the self. While some of them are very good, many of them feel like actual work to me with repetitive simple tasks and over all bloatage. So game length is a major factor in replaying games. None of those "that one part" segments. All thriller no filler is a big factor here. NG+ rarely offers anything of value to me. Though games that require different storylines/playthroughs are a bit different. I consider completing all of them as part of beating the game. I enjoy seeking new experiences within the video game medium.

In know you need to runn it for 7 playthrough for the platinum but what ai wanna know are those playthroughs as long as the first playthrough. Like REmake 2 was easy to speed run for the platinum but RE4 seems way larger?

Never replay. As much as I love some games, a repeat run would just not be the same experience because you know (mostly)everything that's going to happen. I try to make my first run as complete and deep as possible to get everything I can out of the game. After that, it's better to let that game live on in my thoughts and memories than risk getting bored of it through repetition.

It entirely depends. If it's a long RPG I may linger an extra few hours to do some side missions I didn't finish or explore a little more. If I ever replay it,usually months or years down the line. Sometimes on a different platform. If the same copy of the game usually only if it has NG+

Stylish action like a DMC/Bayo or anything in that genre. Short games. I replay my fave stages right away.

TPS is like VanQuish/Gears, and others like it. I can start over and play to the point I want, stop, and start again. Same can apply to any FPS I like.

Some games I just use a chapter select and replay a chapter or two.

Ratchet and Clank games I replayed them right away. Short and with keeping my upgrades it goes faster.

Something like Shenmue is special to me, where I finished the game many times in the past but now I will start a new save and just get to a certain point and asorb the world for a while, then put it down. Repeat the process some time later.

Some older games I once replayed a lot like a Sonic Adventure or SM64. I just don't anymore as I feel I only have a few years left as is, so looking for new experiences and some of the games I played a million times from my youth need to take a backseat. Time is short.

If game offers sufficiently different experiences, depending on the choices made, and if I liked it a lot, I tend to play it right away again...if they are of reasonable length - which is actually how I like games to be, quite varied and shorter playthroughs, instead of one long saga that offers very little of fundamental differences in subsequent runs.

Of course, these requirements don't apply to mostly "mechanical" games - I can play something like Galaga any time of the day.

I got through FF16 recently and started playing again on Final Fantasy mode right again. The characters really grew on me and I wanted to see the events from the beginning again. And I enjoy the fighting with higher difficulty quite a lot. I think I will play through the whole thing again. Which is funny, because I wasn't interested in the game at all and only got it after reading a thread here about it and found it for 20 bucks at my local store. I really didn't expect to enjoy this game this much.

Normally it is unusual for me to play through a game more than once because I just don't have the time for it. I always struggle to get to the end of a game before the next one comes out.

Surprised by the results. I couldn't imagine not going straight back into Clair Obscur and some genres are more fun the second time around like Sekiro, Souls games and many action games like DMC5. When you know what to do it's a sole focus on the fun parts condensed down. I get it for long games but damn, if you aren't speed running something like REmake 2 or Bloodborne you are missing out on a crucial factor thst makes those games so great. It's so fun to have those games fresh in memory or up the difficulty or put restrictions on yourself plus there's the fact that they are so much quicker playthroughs, you can spend 100 hours in Elden Ring doing everything but then speed run NG+ in 12 hours or so or 30 hours on a fresh save. REmake 2 changes from a survival horror resource management game to a totally action focused game. Not to mention testing your skills in these games is a must.

Playing fresh in Clair Obscur limiting myself to no builds, no weapon upgrading and reloading the save if oen character dies is so much fun for. Trying to get a sub 4 hour run on Sekiro (A 50 hour game) is wildly entertaining. Souls game straight after are so cool cause you get to build for a different style and the games feels different as your strategies and styles change.

Oh, I forgot that. I did NG+ R&C2. And if I had had a hope in hell to do that racing minigame, I would've done a third round to 100% it.
