Neither, I buy my own games to keep and have more games than I have time for anyway.

But I'm reluctantly still subscribed to ps+ for online, which my kid uses. Last time I played an online game was years ago when I still bothered with GT7 / GTS online races. Last time I actually played a ps+ game was Wreckfest which was May 2021 lol. So I'm just paying the overpriced sub for my kid to play Rust with his friends. (He does try and play the ps+ games as well at least)

I have tried Gamepass a couple times for Forza Horizons, Halos, Gears, Psychonauts 2 but it kinda made me like the games less. First feeling like I need to play them before the sub runs out again, then having nothing to go back to while not subscribed. And since I already played them, feels like a waste of money to buy them after...

I'm really only using PS+ for online. Mostly that's for Virtua Fighter, Tekken, Mortal Kombat, as well as No Man's Sky. I ironically play online more on Switch than anything thanks to Mario Kart and Smash. I buy my games as well, and I try to buy physical when that option exists.

I have to pick PS Plus for a couple of reasons.
1. My most powerful gaming device is PS5. With Xbox, I have an Xbox One X and a non-gaming PC.
2. While first-party games take time to go on the service and are often removed over time, they're simply titles I want to play more.
3. More classic titles in terms of PS3 streaming and the Classics.

Huh, I didn't see this when making my latest thread. Neither. Can't access DLC that was bought for Tales of Arise on PS Extra, feels totally illegal, a 30 euro purchase that I now have to pay 40 to gain access to cause I felt like giving myself a breather from the game. Both are horrendous services and I can't understand why I am paying for this library of 95% shite titles with 5% that's good but I don't feel lime playing right now. Nonsense. I'll continue to pay and I suspect the majority will be the same as me.

PS extra would win if they stopped with the premium shite and made a separate teir for classics so you aren't tied to Extra for no reason. So....

Nintendo and PS monthly essential games, win. It's solid. It's always there. It's not going to be rotated out or gone for good and you won't know which it is, as long as you are paying you can return and the titles will be available. Everything else past that is completely unessessery unless it's for the most unmedicated ADHD, casual gamer or someone unfortunate enough to only be able to afford 15 euro a month. Sony having classics at the highest teir of with no modules to not have PS extra for those most die hard of PS fans is insulting as fuck. They really love to fuck the loyal fans, well all three PS, Nintendo and Xbox love to leave the lube out of the questions with the most loyal fans in truth.

I've had both, Gamepass is better for day one releases. I'm not a huge fan of either, as I end up playing some games just to play games sometimes. If a game is leaving the service, I may try and play through it even if it's not up to my standards.

Are these even the same thing?

PS Plus Essential > GamePass Core
GamePass Ultimate > PS Plus Extra/Premium

I never subscribed to GamePass though, and rarely subbed to Playstation Plus, mainly for online multiplayer and Rocket League at launch.

I had Xbox Live for almost 2 decades, Game pass? I'll Pass.
PSN I find value as we are provided games to add to our library, like how Games with Gold used to work.

Thanks for adding an option for those of us who clicked on the poll despite not caring!

They're quite different, true.

I almost added NSO, but the online infrastructure is so weak, and no usually paid Switch titles are available in the library (just classics).

Hopefully I never ever need to use a service to get my games.
