Forums - Gaming Discussion - How long will GTA6 be the best looking, most detailed games graphics?

GTA6 (Vanilla PC release) will be the best looking game for...

1 year 3 10.34%

1-5 years 10 34.48%

5-10 years 1 3.45%

10+ years 0 0%

Forever !!! 1 3.45%

It'll release jank like Cyberpunk. 13 44.83%

No opinion. 1 3.45%

Total:29

I don't remember a GTA ever looking better than anything else and I doubt this will be different this time around. GTA is about decent graphics with a lot of action in a huge area which is impressive from a technical standpoint but if we just talk about "how does it look" I doubt there will be a single scene where I will stand in the game and think "I've never seen something to look this good"

Even if I weren't turned completely off by their social-political stances, I still wouldn't care about the game no matter how great it looks. You can't release a new title every twelve years and keep my attention. That is just ridiculous. I mean, in that same span of time, SNES, N64 and Gamecube launched. Are you kidding me?

I mean, this is out now and already looks better than GTA6 to me:

I'm honestly not bothered with the graphics. GTA V disappointed me when I realised they scaled back all the physics that were in GTA IV. The older game still holds up really well and it was always satisfying to run people over in GTA IV, the police actually arrested people in IV rather than just shoot people!, AI behaviour was much more realistic in IV and reacted to the player better, people would hang off the car to try to stop you carjacking them which was very satisfying, loads of things that were missing from V. So I want GTA VI to focus more on the physics side of things and I feel RDR 2 handled this much better than GTA V too. Physics are just worse in a lot of games now and I hope that changes.

Also after this, smaller but more frequent release of games please Rockstar! We don't need games that cost billions and take decades to make!

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

GTA VI engine technology choices are tied to consoles, ergo, it's potential to be the "height of graphics" is severely limited.

Only so much you can do with a paltry 16GB of shared RAM in a system.

Pretty much this, back when GTA4 came out in 2008 it wasn't as good looking as games like Uncharted 1, Gears of War, Bioshock, COD 4, etc, and when GTA5 came out in 2013 it wasn't as good looking as games like The Last of Us, Halo 4, Uncharted 3, Killzone 2/3, Gears of War 3/Judgement, Crysis 2-3, etc.

It was their scale and the number of moving parts that was impressive, rather than the graphics being the best in the business.

To me TLoU2 is still the most impressive game ever, even as some games definitely have outclassed it purely on tech, how that game looks plus the insane level of detail mostly everywhere and the fluidity and animations of the characters is something still unmatched.

And I don't see why you think ND will not deliver with Intergalactic, they do every single time since Uncharted 2.

Gta5 wasn't a graphics showcase, and neither will 6. From the trailer we saw, it looked like it was ps4 made gta game. It looked good, but nothing looked ps5 made, when you look at skin textures and models. We never did get a proper gta ground up for ps4. Closest we got was rdr2, which does looking amzing at times. So i expect the fidelity to be a slightly better rdr2, with a higher framerate.

Why is there no opinion for "No"? I mean GTAV was no graphical benchmark when it launched. Neither on consoles nor on PC!

GTA5 and RDR2 has details like no other game, on the latter the game still holds up with any modern release on the PS4 PRO which is ten year old tech.

I'll change the title of the thread to best looking, detailed game.
