Forums - Gaming - Marvel Rivals Thread

Marvel Rivals should be releasing in less than 24 hours, now. What was initially received as just another Overwatch knockoff with a Marvel skin has steadily grown into a title with genuine enthusiasm and hope surrounding it. Personally if all it is is a more casual, less toxic Overwatch where I can play as my favorite characters to my heart's content, then that's all I need. If nothing else, the art direction in this game is on point.

What about you? Did any of you play during the testing phases? Are you going to give it a go at launch? What do you want out of the game? Which characters are you most interested in? At the very least it costs nothing to try. Discuss below!

I haven't tried the game and honestly wasn't really interested, but given the positive word of mouth and that I've been a huge Marvel fan most of my life I'm actually interested to try it out with some friends.

Definitely going to try out Thor first since he's in my top 3 characters, but also excited for Spider-Man, Loki, Hawkeye, Namor who are all in my top 10.

I want to give it a go. It helps that Spider-Man is one of my favorites.
A lot of live service games die or disappoint so I'm cautious.

Just spent a couple hours exploring the menus and studying the characters. Some of them are a lot deeper mechanically than I expected! Looking for a few characters that look fun to play as while still supporting the team beyond just selfish damage. Leaning toward Cloak and Dagger so far. Hulk looks surprisingly skilled as well. Will try the game properly this weekend.

Can't do it. I tried for an hour, it's mildly fun when shooting with some characters but the game is waaaaay to slow and sluggish, the characters move like their stuck in quick sand and no-one seems to know what their doing, reminds me of Overwatch in the early days but it lacks speed and pace. If they quicken it up even 20 or 30 percent and shorten TTK every so slightly, that'd have a winner here, I'd stay for hundreds of hours like Overwatch, no doubt. It's a game that needs very small tweaks here and there to become something worthy of time when one could be playing better MP games like Helldivers 2 or Xdefiant before it gets shut down next year.

I'm having fun so far, only played 4 games, won them all. Rocket is simple and nice and like a jack of all trades.

However, the game will def not be on my good books. The game has Psylocke,"Cool." I thought, looks kinda weird but all the characters have their own design, right? Wait, she's not talking with a British accent. *checks the lore*... it's not Psylocke. Iron Fist isn't Danny Rand either. Very odd.

Anyway, decently fun, just feels like a slightly less accurate Overwatch. Also, bullets seem to come from the character's gun not the crosshairs, I have shot a lot of bullets into steps.

Hmm, pie.
