I agree with those saying that the PS5 and the PS3 super-slim are the two worst. I think that the PS5 is still uglier, as in, "What the hell were they thinking with this aesthetic?", but I will say that at least the PS5 still feels like a high-quality product, unlike the PS3 super-slim which felt really cheap. The slim PS5 and the Pro definitely look less hideous than that launch model, I will say that. Seriously, what kind of console needs a stand when placed horizontally?! Also not a fan of the PS4 Pro; looks like someone just photo-shopped two PS4s together to make a "super" system.

The PS3 fat is probably my second favorite... when standing up. Laying flat the console looks pretty stupid but vertical I think it looks different in a good way as opposed to the PS5. Only thing I hated was the Spider-Man font for the lettering.  On the other hand, the PS3 slim (1) looked ok when flat but really lame when standing up.  The super-slim looked like junk either way.

In any case, this little beauty is easily #1 in my book; one of my favorite console designs ever, from any company:

Around the Network

PS5 looks fine.

Original PS3 looks stellar

PSOne looks best.

Original PS2 is an ugly VCR.

PS4 was okay looking.

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.

The PS5 is ugly only in the same manner that some of these buildings, like the 'EGG' Gherkin building in London, England are.

See here's the thing. The biggest reason why some of these are so hideous, is because they don't fit what's expected. They don't fit the typical design and 'theme' of London or England.

However, if instead of building these in London, if they were built in Dubai let's say, they would fit in and wouldn't be near the eyesore. Not that it would make them beautiful buildings, but they wouldn't seem near as ugly because they would better fit their surroundings, since in Dubai kinda anything goes.

The reason the PS5 comes off as ugly to many who think it is, is because it doesn't fit the typical console mold. XBSS and XBSX still do, which is why they are seen by some as decent if not great looking consoles, because they are simply what you would expect.

PS1   - ! - We must build a console that can alert our enemies.

PS2  - @- We must build a console that offers online living room gaming.

PS3   - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.

PS4   - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.

PRO  -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.

PS5   - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.

PRO  -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.

Dubai, the architecture and urban planning anyway, is an eyesore all the same though.

The slim all black really helps it. I wish they'd done this.

The two tone was my biggest gripe. While I didn't think the PS5 was the best looking console ever, I thought the futuristic approach was pretty cool. The two tone makes it stand out a lot and makes it difficult to fit in and match an entertainment center. The fact you had to buy overpriced plates as extra to potentially accomplish that also rubs me the wrong way, at least when it comes to basic colors like black or grey. SNY at least understood this with PS3. PS5 should've had 3 main stock colors and the rest should've been additional extra's.

The main core architecture is fine. I'd argue the main theme is worthy, but because at some point they decided to branch out and be more diverse with their buildings, very diverse, its really started to make the place much less attractive.

Some really like it though. To each their own.

And they lock us slim users out of plates too, at least us with the disk drives.

The PS1 Slim (PS One) is the undisputed best looking gaming console ever.

The OG PS3 is also a beauty.

Beyond looking overdesigned, the PS5 is also just inconvenient. The fact it requires an additional stand just to set it up horizontally is absurd.
Plus the disc drive looks like a tumor on it.

Why are so many of you obsessed with the look of a PS console, or any console for that matter? It's not like you dating it, or anything remotely close to that.

Hell, all my consoles are covered in black bandanas, not because I don't want to look at them, but for the fact that I don't want dust to get into them.

Why do you care about what anything looks like, as long as it doesn't imply e.g. danger? Where do you draw the line, why, and why should everyone else draw the line in the same place as you?

Also, having an opinion and actually caring are two different things.
