I wish they'd make the games Dark Arisen instead of releasing complete dogshit.

I gotta disagree with calling DD2 (base game) “complete dogshit” that’s just bad take. Its biggest issue is that we’ve played it before, it’s largely the same game as the first. DD really isn’t a series where the story is that important tho, the gameplay is and in that DD2 excels. The Dark Arisen content works so well in comparison to the base game due to being more aimed at end game and challenge content. I’m doing the Trails of Lost Rites (about to do the last one in the Unmoored world) before I start NG+ and the DLC. It is quite frankly the best content in the entire series I’ve played up to this point. I mean just look at this boss roster I’m about to face in 1 run. Corrupted Dragon >Corrupted Ogre x2 >Corrupted Garm x3 >Corrupted Griffin >Corrupted Lesser Dragon and Corrupted Wight >Corrupted Dullahan >Corrupted Minotaur x2 >Corrupted Chimera and Corrupted Worms >Corrupted Evil Eye >Corrupted Sphinx and Medusa 🥹 it’s fucking beautiful.

Well, in the context of gameplay alone It wasn't dog shit, it seen me through to the end but...agh, that NG+ stuff which I haven't tried would just make it worse. Dragons that take an hour to take down and you have to do two dozen of them while relying on the AI team. Everything that should make the game good and have the whole appeal makes it ass. I never went for the unmoured world nor this DLC but if I had to take another hour to get to a dragon that takes an hour to get a small bit of the reward I need only to be molested on the road by so many enemies and random monsters (all which should be cool and the idea of the game) I'd have an aneurism.

We have different tastes in games and that's cool. We both love 100%ing games but my God this one ain't worth it, it's painful even if DA makes it better I can't imagine how it would be less painful.

You never did unmoored world ? That’s like the entire end game + actual true ending 😂

The game was supposed to be good 10 hours in. It was like 30 or 40 hours before I got to the end game. I wasn't gonna subject myself to more mind numbing mediocrity.

I've been jumping in between different games. Crimson Desert, Dragon's Dogma 2, and Cyberpunk 2077.

Crimson Desert is enjoyable but there some annoying things about it. some of the puzzles and Quest feel unintuitive and it feels like I'm fighting with the controls half the time. But man This is one of the most lively open worlds I've ever experienced. the cities are packed with people and activities and there is a lot to interact with. The world is so dense despite it's size and there are a lot of mechanics to play around with and plenty of thrilling boss fights. Despite some of my annoyances with the game i can't put it down.

I'm enjoying Dragon's Dogma 2 as well. I was a bit hesitant to play it before due to it's initial launch reception but I'm enjoying it a lot.

Cyberpunk 2077 is Great too. I really like how the story turned out so far.

Played through Luigi's Mansion the other day for the first time in a few years. Still an underappreciated launch title for the Nintendo GameCube. Kinda wish Luigi got his own solo outing again, but for once not one where he's running for his life in a haunted house or haunted hotel.

Beat the Hearts of Stone expansion for TW3. I mainlined it, skipped 80% of the side content like the fallen knights and Runewright and what not and didn't bother with Gwent that much, just a few games. I think it works better this way. Just a really well contained story. I was going to side with O'dimm this time and get one of his boons but even the third time I can not allow that monster to exist in the world if even it is only for a short while I assume. I don't think he really is defeated based on the fact that someone done it once before.

Now Blood and Wine and I think I'm counting it as a seperate game. Just gotten do some of the HoS sides I rember being great like the zookeeper quest... or maybe that was RDR2. Hmm.

Gears of war Eday, has it's great moments. Recommend

Been playing Blood and Wine all morning. It really does feel like it's own self contained game despite the progress I've made with my Geralt through the base game and HoS. HoS tried to make to feel like you were at a wedding, part of a hiest and in a horror film and it succeeded but Toussaint just makes you feel part of a story book and makes everything feel like the best parts of your life somehow, like looking bavk on memories of sunny days or fancy weddings when the world was bright. It is such a tonal shift from the rest of this game it feels entirely new even if systems tie back to it. Tbh, the main quest isn't as good narratively as HoS but it feels so much better. The characters just a smidge less chiseled out but it doesn't matter cause riding the feeling of a fairy tale and vibes that are evoked is better. The systems are better too, looking for Grandmaster gear, looting coin to upgrade it and your own vineyard also and really great side quests, some of the best in the game, I haven't gotten to them this run just yet but I know they're there waiting as well as that fairy tale quest and the whole back end of the story which ramps up fantastically and litterally so. Gwent revived with the epic new music. Holy fuck, this is the best gaming one can do on any device ever and It'll be hard to change my mind on that.

I just want to exist in Toussaint. Never leave.
