Update the OP. Another wave has occurred. This is absolutely the most insane warfare we've ever seen, I thought Stuxnet was next level but this takes the cake. Can we expect our phones lithium batteries to start melting the skin off our legs now?

While that can happen, these devices were rigged with explosives. Likely set off by overheating the battery in some way.

Li-Ion batteries can explode as well, but cause less damage than the rigged devices.

The biggest danger is copycats. Now it has been demonstrated, any psychopath can mess with a device and simply restock it, return it, refurbished ticking time bombs... And Israel is always so willing to sell their latest terror tactics to even the most dubious regimes.

Death toll in Lebanon blasts rises to 37

Lebanon’s Health Minister Firass Abiad has said, in the latest news briefing in Beirut, that the death toll from the two waves of attacks across the country has risen to 37.

On Tuesday, 12 people were killed and 2,323 admitted to hospital, including 226 who remain in critical condition. The following day, 25 people were killed and 708 wounded, including 61 who remain in intensive care units.

Taiwanese authorities question head of pager firm linked to Lebanon blasts

Authorities questioned the founder of Gold Apollo, the Taiwanese firm linked to pagers that detonated across Lebanon and Syria on Tuesday, in an apparent Israeli espionage operation targeting Hezbollah members.

Hsu Ching-kuang declined to answer questions as he left the Taipei offices of Taiwan’s prosecutors on Thursday evening. He told reporters earlier this week Gold Apollo did not produce the pagers in question, and they were made by Hungarian firm BAC that had licensed its design and branding.

A second person seen leaving the prosecutors office on Thursday was Teresa Wu, the only employee at a company called Apollo Systems Ltd who Hsu said earlier this week had been one of his points of contact for the deal with BAC.

The New York Times reported on Wednesday that BAC was part of a network of Israeli shell companies created to obfuscate links to Israeli intelligence.

Taiwanese authorities have not issued a statement yet regarding their investigation into Gold Apollo.

Ministers says components used in pager blasts were not made in Taiwan

Taiwan’s economy minister has said components used in thousands of pagers detonated in deadly blasts across Lebanon and Syria on Tuesday were not manufactured in Taiwan.

“The components are low-end IC [integrated circuits] and batteries,” Kuo Jyh-huei told reporters on Friday. “I can say with certainty they were not made in Taiwan.”

Taiwanese prosecutors questioned Gold Apollo’s founder and director Hsu Ching-kuang on Thursday as part of an investigation into the matter.

Hsu told reporters in the aftermath of the attacks, which have been blamed on Israel, that his company licensed its design and branding to Hungarian company BAC.

UNGA resolution on Palestine that demands Israel to end "its unlawful presence in the occupied Palestinian territory" within 12 months

Hungary is also one of the very few countries (besides USA obviously) which voted against it. So who knows if this is only coincidence but Hungary seems to be more on Israels side in this war as most others.

Czechia as well, and all the abstentions in Europe shows half of Europe is firmly in Israel's pocket.

Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Liechtenstein, Netherlands, Poland, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, UK.

Plus Qatar is right, terrifying there is such a tame reaction to a large scale state sponsored terrorist attack

Qatari minister says international community’s silence on Lebanon blasts ‘terrifying’

Qatari Minister of State for International Cooperation Lolwah Al-Khater calls the international community’s “cold reaction” and “inaction” after the communication device blasts in Lebanon “terrifying”, arguing that breaking the laws that govern wars means they risk having “no limits”.

“This is now not about Lebanon or Israel or Gaza, but it is about the new dimension that contemporary warfare has just entered,” Al-Khater said in a post on X.

“These mobile ticking bombs indiscriminately injure and kill people in public and civilian spaces, when did this become acceptable?”

I don't think the european situation is as clear cut as you paint it, especially I wouldn't say they are in Israels pocket. With France, Spain, Norway and Greece important european countries supported the resolution.

Germany, Austria and Poland had actually concentration camps. I think they feel a sort of historic responsibility, I know that is the case for germany. I think Italy might have also had concentration camps. And for the UK it might be more a case of not to piss of daddy USA as one of pleasing Israel. Australia and Canada did the same, only New Zealand broke with the Five Eyes. The most interesting part is how many mini countries voted against: Nauru, Micronesia, Fiji, Palau, Tonga, Tuvalu. Here I would see a much more reliable case of they could be in Israels pocket.
