At this point, I can't tell if winning or losing makes liberals more smug. It seems they're always disingenuous and will call anyone that disagrees with them stupid(or worse) in a hair margin victory or a humiliating defeat. It's just goofy how semantical this thread has become since the 5th.

Well, yeah. What did you expect? “Stop the steal” banners and crying fake elections? No, we won’t stoop that low.

I am proud the worst we can be is sore losers. Something for your side to learn from and aspire to.

"You got a grammar lesson from a foreigner. Now that's insulting."

Are you that anal and nit-picky over grammar in a Video Game website forum? Are you gonna be the "grammar police" from now on?

I feel that there are some clandestine trolling activities going on in this forum.  You should not let it bother you, instead of being one of the dozens of people that Rol baited into getting mad and then banned over the years.

Have a good day though buddy.

Ah yes, the same side that swears on leaving the country when they lose.  Because who cares about America when I can't get my way?

The side that's currently screaming how Trump cheated, how "it's not possible" he won every swing state AND snatched multiple double digit blue state projections down to within 5-10%

The side that has it's women locking arms to sexually abstain from "racist, misogynistic, horrible men" because they didn't dare obey the sisterhood.  But no misandry to be found there.

No you guys won't say "stop the steal", you'll just call him illegitimate, like Hillary did the first time.  It's not the same when you do it though right?

I should aspire to BLM riots, antifa riots, pro Hamas riots, Roe v. Wade riots?

Yeah, after an alleged coup of the sitting president, the same side is now murmuring about disposing of an aging supreme court justice to implant the DEI hire into another position she didn't earn.

A lot more than "sore losers" if you ask me.

"You should be banned. Youre clearly flaming the president and even his brother who you know nothing about. Dont be such a partisan hack"

Perhaps you should log off Twitter as you seem to have gotten it mixed up with the real world...

Some things to say:

First: I have to admit I thought Harris might win. I was cautious in my public statements but internally thought she might win. I was wrong and I am happy that with my statements I stayed cautious.

Second: About the wrongness of the polls. Actually the reason why they were wrong was called out before the election already, by statistician Nate Silver. He saw herding. Which means different polls are closer together than statistically should be happening. Which means pollsters that have results that are outliers fear about their reputation and change some parameters to be more in line with other polls. This happens with all polls and they end up pretty close. The point they are herding around hasn't to be the middle of the polls, it can lie on either side. In this case one might suspect if the pollsters more trusted their own polls we would have seen some polls more pointing in Trumps direction. So we should learn: if all the polls are telling the same story it doesn't mean they are right - on the contrary.

What a strange convo. I never for once did not think it was a joke.
And appreciated between all the 'professional' poll results, take it all with a bucket of salt.

Do we have to end posts with /jk again to make it clear? Just like sarcasm flies over most people's heads in the states?

I feel the need to weigh in, despite not really wanting to do as such, given I am at the crux of the conversation.  I think the heart of the matter is simple.  It was a joke, mockery and ridicule in the direction of betting firms.  Given betting firms were spot on, the original mockery has aged poorly.  It would be better if people would just own it and move on, like Zorg.  Pretending there wasn't a mockery behind the original intent is creating unnecessary conversations, because we all know what the original intent was.  At the end of the day, we all know the betting firm position ended up being a good/accurate call.

If you want to insist that it was mockery of betting firms, then you also have to acknowledge that it must have been mockery of pollsters at the same time. After all, I didn't regard polls as accurate.

As far as betting firms go, I wouldn't call them spot on in the end. Shortly before election day, they moved strongly in Harris's direction when we know based on election results that that wasn't warranted at all, if betting firms should be regarded as a prediction tool. What you were correct about all along is that betting firms are about making money - which nobody contested as far as I recall - and that explains this shift in betting odds. It wasn't that Harris's odds at winning got better all of a sudden, rather it was that there was money to be made by adjusting the odds.

On November 4th, Polymarket had Trump's odds at winning at 58%, down from 67% the week before. Kalshi at 53%, down from 65%. PredictIt even put Harris ahead of Trump.

Calling that a good/accurate call is confirmation bias, because the final call of betting firms pretty much matched the final call of pollsters, which is "anything is possible."

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV will outsell Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I was wrong.

Ah yes, the same side that swears on leaving the country when they lose.  Because who cares about America when I can't get my way?

  • Sore loser attitude

The side that's currently screaming how Trump cheated, how "it's not possible" he won every swing state AND snatched multiple double digit blue state projections down to within 5-10%

  • Sore loser's attitude; doesn't mean shit when Kamala conceded she lost and Biden's speech was all about how losing the election means losing the election.

The side that has it's women locking arms to sexually abstain from "racist, misogynistic, horrible men" because they didn't dare obey the sisterhood.  But no misandry to be found there.

  • Sore loser's attitude

No you guys won't say "stop the steal", you'll just call him illegitimate, like Hillary did the first time.  It's not the same when you do it though right?

  • she was the biggest sore loser in the world until Trump 2020; she conceded, he didn't.

I should aspire to BLM riots, antifa riots, pro Hamas riots, Roe v. Wade riots?

  • no? aspire to Jan 6th instead? each side is capable of stupid shit. I don't agree with the riots or support them.

Yeah, after an alleged coup of the sitting president, the same side is now murmuring about disposing of an aging supreme court justice to implant the DEI hire into another position she didn't earn.

  • yeah and republicans blocked Obama and left the seat empty so they could get their candidates in, I called that smart politics back in the day and I think getting a younger supreme justice higher is smart politics.

A lot more than "sore losers" if you ask me.

  • Compared to 2020 and the nonsense that ensued for 4 years after? you fucking wish

People online talking nonsense, shocker. I mean, it was only few weeks ago when BFR talked about leaving to Canada because America's national debt is too high, everyone is capable of saying stupid shit.

I was absolutely and thoroughly against the russiagate propagated by MSNBC and other mainstream media outlet, many of us on the left were. It's one of the biggest "the left cried wolf" moments in recent history. Rachel Maddow and the likes absolutely dealt the left a long-lasting credulity blow and painted Trump further as the "outsider" who's everyone out to get....

.... But for you to equate election denal-ism with whatever Hillary said... this tells me much more about you and the movement you support. Maybe Sundin13 is right, we finally agree on something.

Don't pretend these things are equal. One person conceded and attended the inauguration of their opponent. While the other lied about voter fraud and gathered fake electors to try to change the result of an election.

And I don't support any riots but at least those were protestings things that actually happen. J6th rioting was over a lie, complete fantasy.
