I game on a 25" 1440p monitor. I read that at this kind of size, you can start to notice (not see, but notice) the pixels if you go with a 1080p resolution, so I went with this resolution as I wanted a monitor a bit bigger in size.

Next time I have to replace my monitor, I may go with a 27" one, but it will still be 1440p.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

I think my 1080p monitors is 23.5", and compared to my previous 22" 1080p monitor, individual pixels were definitely more noticeable at first. I've got used to them since, and I don't think it's a problem anymore. That said, if my next monitor is larger, that might be one more reason to consider a higher resolution as well, as happy as I am with 1080p.

My gaming laptop is 1080p, my tv is 4K, but I only game on PSVR2 nowadays, so 2K resolution.

On my laptop I can spot the pixels.
On tv I don't really see much benefit from 4K over 1080p or rather 1440p and native 4K look identical.
In VR it feels more like 720p resolution at most, 640p more effectively due to the 110 degree fov.

No particular resolution it  varies by game and console capability,  On the PC side up to 1440p -165hz on a Razer 14 3070 RTX ti Laptop on PS5 4K with /PS4 games tending to be a mix of chequerboard and 1080p and Xbox one whatever its native resolution tends to be.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

Other, my PC screen has a 1920*1200 resolution, so 16/10 instead of 16/9.

My monitor has 1440p, but as a low-spec-gamer, I don't use the full resoultion all the time. On my Legion Go I regurlarly switch to 1080p or even 720p because I like 60fps a lot. The Switch won't run at more than 1080p anyway. I guess the PS5 is utilizing 1440p, probably rendering at 4K or something, I don't know. But I haven't used that console for months. Last thing I did with it was putting a Bowser sticker on it that Nintendo sent me when I ordered a N64 Controller the other day. =P

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

Full on 4K for me, but it's a very uneven experience. Some games just won't run properly, I hear Dragon's Dogma II is one of those titles. I could hardly have built a more powerful rig, so that's not the issue. I played 1440p for about 6-7 years before that, on a 32" display, so it made sense to upgrade after so many years. I use an Aorus FV43U, which is a decent enough 4K screen, with 144hz and decent brightness for HDR. Its anti-glare is also impressive, and colors are vibrant, but it lacks proper nvidia Sync features and it has rather horrible blooming (typical VA-panel issue). Another issue I didn't consider was the fact that youtube videos and other media in 1080p looks really bad on such a big display.

I'm considering splashing on an OLED-monitor next year, but I need a new TV first (mine is more or less dead).

1440p on my PC, looks great!

I've been a 4k gamer since 2015, after I got myself a 980ti.

1080p/1440p depending on the game for my gaming PC (2019)

Whatever the highest resolution is for PS5/XboxSeriesX/Switch game.

I have a 85'' Sony x90cl 4K tv.
