I think my 1080p monitors is 23.5", and compared to my previous 22" 1080p monitor, individual pixels were definitely more noticeable at first. I've got used to them since, and I don't think it's a problem anymore. That said, if my next monitor is larger, that might be one more reason to consider a higher resolution as well, as happy as I am with 1080p.
