Forums - Sony Discussion - PlayStation Showcase announced for May 24 (Over an hour long, focusing on PS5 and PSVR2 games)

I'll share thoughts on each game later, but overall i think it was an ok showing. Honestly, as much as I wanted a lot of 1st party stuff, I think it was clear that this wouldn't be the case. I honestly do think that Sony wants to shorten the time between announcement and release more (outside of a few titles). The Fairgame and Concord (and to a less extent Marathon) I think are good example of this: CG reveals for most likely 2024/ 2025 games, which is peculiar for Sony. I think Sony is going to need to figure out how to market these games so early announcements were probably the easiest thing to do now.

Anyways, Sony have already said that they're looking for 2 big games for each year, so they'll def have something for 2024. But, Helldivers 2 finally being announced was great.

I'll say this, I'd rather Sony just keep doing regular SoPs. I know a lot of ppl don't like them but honestly, I think it works a lot better at keeping engagement with what is coming out.

So 1 game per generation for one studio at this tempo. Great!

Spider-Man 2 looked amazing. What I'm most excited about is that it teased that the map includes other boroughs outside of Manhattan. The first fight took place in Queens. Hoping Brooklyn is also part of the map. That would be a huge step up over the previous games.

The Plucky Squire looked neat. I want it.

Phantom Blade 0 looked awesome but there seem to be a lot of samurai actions games as of late.

The PS Earbuds seem nice. I will pick up those if they are not too pricey.

Project Q might be a no from me if you can't stream PS Plus games.

Fairgame$, Concords, Marathon welcome to the Live Service games era of PlayStation but where the fuck is Factions 2?

I honestly don't care about MSG Delta and I loved Snake Eater.

Please Watch/Share this video so it gets shown in Hollywood.

Honestly, the whole thing was nice but too many CGI trailers and from Sony too many PvP games. Are they all going to be competing with each other and others on the market?

Adventures are easy sell. Make those. All company should make more.

Zelda sold 10mil in  3 hrs and 56 minutes.

Hmm, pie.

Sony: "Sure, we can make a Switch too"

*makes a Wii U*

Nintendo: *struggling to keep a straight face*

Spoiler!
Really tho, it was a pretty good showing. Hyped for Talos Principle 2.

GaaS will never make a good Showcase/E3. These games are only about how sticky they are and how much $$$ they will generate. You can show 100 hours of amazing innovative ways of landing a headshot , but if you release them and no one plays them, nobody cares?

No amount of trailers would've convinced me that Fortnite was going to be huge.

Screen shots of the game seem to suggest that its gonna be a dead souls type remake and not something like resident evil 4 remake where they improved the gameplay.
