Bungie will try experimenting with PvE mode next month, after the disastrous numbers season 2 is having as expected from the rapid decline in players happening during the entire of season 1. The free period the game had didn't help at all.

Looks like they are trying hard to change it as fast as they can, I can hardly imagine how much pressure they are dealing with based on the performance the game has, but I hope they can do their best to find a bigger audience.

I also hope it eventually has a proper story mode and a physical release for it with access to the PvP OG mode included.

It looks really, really bad for Bungie right now, specially without Destiny 3 in the horizon.

That would require time and resources that Bungie may not have. You can't just poof out a story mode. Especially if the leaks are true that the studio is about to lose 50% of its employees. Which would no doubt include the developers that would be needed to work on a standalone story mode while the rest of the studio continues working on improving the live-service aspects, such as the standalone PvE mode, and development on a new project.

I also doubt Sony would consider investing resources to manufacture a physical release for a game that is quickly losing players as a wise move.

Sony has already said it wants to focus on keeping hardcore players invested, the little they currently have, with the hope of attracting new players through new content. Our only hope is that the PvE mode gains some traction with new players so eventually, in a year or two, we can get some sort of story mode lol physical release....I wouldn't bet anything on that. We were lucky with the Collector's Edition, and that didn't even come with a digital copy of the game

Well, it surely would take time which means money and I agree Sony is likely not wanting to spend even more on something that is failing but what would the alternative be... let them as they are for another 5 years? That's also a massive money loss if there is nothing potentially big as a new Destiny being actively worked into.

The other option would be closing it down... which not only I hope don't happen but I also believe Sony also doesn't want that either, at all.

It looks really unlikely Marathon as it is will be able to turn into a big game, trying to soft introduce PvE into it as fast as they can, like they just announced, which is not really close to a commitment to a campaign focus or something like that for now, at least shows they know the changes need to be fast and they need to be more than just make the current game better, it needs to be different.

Well, best of luck to them.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Marathon needs a respawn option to help cater to casual crowd. Just let ppl keep playing in the match they are in instead of being forced out because of a quick TTK you can do nothing about. More active players in the match over the course of the round is far better than losing them and waiting for single Rooks to join.

GTA VI confirmed to be $80 as I've always expected it to be.

It also only comes with a code in the physical release, at least on launch... which means it doesn't exist for me, at least for now.

I do expect an actual physical release 6 to 8 weeks after the release day tho.

In potential actual good news.

Jason thinks God of War Laufey could release between February and March 2027 (not reporting it, just saying it can happen).

So that's an actual game that's potentially GOTY or even GOTG materal I can play day one with a disc, and get discounts from retailers and coupouns.

Can't wait for it, it looks so good.

I never expect for Insomniac super hero games to "win awards" at the end of the year because I believe that goes against the bias of the industry so I hope GTA is good enough to just win everything. I just want to see the propaganda vs high budget games ruined lol.

There has definitely been a huge bias when it comes to the kinds of games that can be GOTY. Anything outside of RPGs, Action-Adventure, and Platformers has a slim to no chance of being in contention lol

At least Insomniac's superhero games get nominations. I personally never expect them to win though. They're like summer blockbuster movies. You never see them winning major Oscar awards lol

The fact that Mario Kart was the first $80 game is kind of bizzare lol. I don't think many publishers will follow unless they have a gauranteed hit on their hand ala Zelda, 3D mario etc. Will be interesting to see what Sony does with its big hitters

$100 for the full game is insane.
