100% deserves a sequel. Loved the cast of characters, they would work even in like an RPG genre. Great chemistry.

MC plays Akechi in P5, and Peppermint plays Futaba

Hogwarts Legacy sitting with a 90 meta on xbxs with a 9.1 user on both xbxs & ps5. Looks like nobody cares in the slightest for JK, so much for that BoYCoTt lol.

I truly hope EW3 is in the works.

Personally I was hoping that Tango would take a break from split teams and all come together under Mikami for his final pre-retirememt game (he said he had only one game left in him in a 2020 interview). I assumed that final Mikami game would be Tango's first project which got postponed in favor of Evil Within, Project Noah, which was an action-adventure game with RPG and Survival elements I believe, described as being similar to the movie Dune. As far as I know that was Mikami's dream game and it got postponed because Zenimax thought it was too risky for a brand new studio and wanted a traditional survival horror game from him, Evil Within, as it was a safer bet since Mikami's name was associated with Survival Horror. With Microsoft money behind him now and the Gamepass safety net, I was hoping he would be able to make it now as his final swan song game before retirement.

I do think both Evil Within 3 and HiFi Rush 2 need to happen, but would be cool to see Project Noah first.

We already know that Tango's next title will be a smaller title than Hi-Fi Rush, in a new genre for them, from a new director.

Honestly I've my doubts that Tango will ever combine into one large team, I don't know if we'll ever see Project Noah or if Mikami's desire to nurture new talent outweighs his own personal desires, as he seems heavily focused on that lately. I think Tango will always hover around 100-200 employees.

I doubt at least in the near future we see anything larger than the scale of The Evil Within IP. Fine by me though, I anticipate Tango being a smaller scaled Obsidian, Mikami seems dead set on the goal of nurturing new talented developers and that's a very admirable goal.

This is what Mikami said only last year

"Shinji Mikami wants Tango Gameworks to make smaller and non-horror games"

"But we also want to be viewed as a studio that can create a wider variety of games."

"Mikami said he doesn’t want Tango to be focused only on big-budget, AAA titles going forwards. He wants to see the studio making smaller games too, partly because he feels it’s easier to train newcomers in smaller teams."

“First of all, we should produce a masterpiece every ten years. Secondly, we want young people to create new games on their own. We also want to nurture good game creators."

"To be honest, it is quite difficult to train newcomers in a large team. I think the most effective way is to run several game development teams of several dozen people"

“It is possible to gain experience in a small team and then get involved in a big project. This way, we can make even better games and projects can proceed more smoothly.”

This is what he said in 2010.

In an interview with Famitsu shortly after joining Bethesda, Mikami said that his first game for Tango would be the last he would direct himself, in part to create opportunities for others.

Dude has such a good mindset.

Would love to see him heading up Xbox Japan one day as I've said 200 times but another avenue they could take is how Rare, The Coalition, 343 Industries, etc. All the XGS studios technically have their own publishing team and any IPs they own come under those respective studios and not Xbox Game Studios Publishing.

Give Tango the resources to set up their own publishing department, Xbox + Bethesda money and Mikami's guidance, allow Mikami to partner Tango up with indie studios across Japan.

Basically beat the "story" of Hot Wheels Unleashed.

Nice game but I'm slightly disappointed. Driving is fun but there's also not much variety with only two types of events, race and fast lap. You can pick every car you want for every type of event. While there are a bunch of cars to unlock, once you have a good one there's basically no reason to drive another car with worse stats.

What also bothers me is that there's no speedometer so you can't really see how fast a car is compared to another on the track. It would certainly help to know you exact speed in fast lap events. Also, you're lap time isn't saved anywhere. When driving the same track I would like to know my previous record so I could try to beat it. Btw. there aren't any splits either so you have no clue how far ahead or behind you are compared to the AI.

Talking about the AI. It can be a little inconsistent (of course depending on the difficulty level). Sometimes they're so far behind that I could make several grave mistakes and they still wouldn't be able to catch up and sometimes there are right behind you despite driving flawlessly (while using a car with max speed). Some of the later fast lap events even require you to use questionable short cuts. Even on perfect laps with a maxed out car, I was three or four seconds slower than the target time. Short cuts aren't really part of the track design so that's a surprising choice to make by the devs.

7.5/10
