Can't say I'm surprised. I honestly don't think we will be able to play any Ys or Legend of Heroes games on Xbox unless Xbox does go the stripped down Windows OS route next gen so that we can play Steam games on Xbox consoles. They really need to make dual layer stripped down Windows OS for Steam + Xbox OS for back compat plus Xbox optimized next gen titles happen. |
Falcom was for the longest time possible the most loyal PS supporter. They were all in on Vita and even after it died, it seemed like eons until the first Ys released on Switch as a late port. And that was NISA doing the port, not Falcom itself. Led to the strange situation, that the japanese version of Ys VIII Switch released last. But apparently this was going well and so they picked up on Switch and are now fully supporting the system.
Phil liked these tweets too.
In my latest sneak attack newsletter I talk about the chunky, decadent Legion Go and why Microsoft needs to step up to help out this blossoming facet of PC gaming.https://t.co/PSeFKz7YVK pic.twitter.com/5kZy1eCTFD

Here's the thing about handheld PC gaming systems: They're paving the path toward console-like experiences on an open operating system.

And that's a big deal.

Gamers have to meet them half way as well and stop whining at every single game which doesn't have eyeball melting graphics |
According to the internet pretty much everything has PS2 graphics. I think people don't really remember what PS2 games actually looked like.
“Every screen is an Xbox,” Bond said in the internal meeting, according to multiple sources who requested anonymity as they were not authorized to speak to media. Bond spoke extensively about Xbox’s strategy of existing on multiple kinds of devices and greater ambitions of becoming the number one cross-platform gaming company.
To illustrate the idea of Xbox on every screen, Microsoft showed images of Palworld on tablets, TV screens, monitors, and handheld devices. Internally, employees expressed surprise at seeing so much Palworld and joked about the possibility of an Xbox handheld, which has also been rumored. Xbox did not return multiple requests for comment.

Yeah but hasn't hardware traditionally been sold at a loss or a small profit? The real money has always been in software and peripherals for the console. Price cuts have been a normal thing for consoles up until this generation. |
More and more people only buy and play FIFA, CoD or Fortnite. They don't bring in much money for the platform holder besides online fees.
It’s time for Microsoft to build an Xbox Steam Deck https://t.co/qmOyx0osZX

*Waits for Phil to like*
Mid range handheld device and a super duper high end console.
