Only if you look at those games does it come close. There’s also about 1250 to 1750 other games that will come out for Switch in 2022, as opposed to about 45-55 in 2017.

I’m aware that the quantity of games does not align. That’s not the point of this and I’m sure you know that. :)

I didn’t, and if I fucked up, to be fair, I haven’t had my coffee yet, and also a little high. But I did edit my post. :D

I’ll try again:

I’m not even sure I’ll be getting anything except Switch Sports and Xenoblade Chronicles this year, probably Zelda. Not because I think the year sucks (very very far from it), but my backlogue is both incredible and disappointing at the same time. I need to work on it!

I have RPGs into 2024.

Also, sports rhymes with ports. Don’t know why I just noticed that.

You're not gonna buy Kirby ?

You forgot Pokken Tournament DX.

What makes 2022 better than 2017 is not only that there are going to be 10 times more third party games, but also that Nintendo also has a good deal more games this year.
Advance Wars, Pokémon Legends Arceus and Mario Strikers: Battle League and there's definitely going to be even more.

This brings back memories of the "Staring into the Abyss" thread from 2020 where the absence of announced games was already interpreted as Switch nearing the end of its lifecycle.

For some people the abyss started in early 2018

Oh good. I have at least three other Kirby friends to play multiplayer with.

Wasn't that just another variant of a Cliff™ thread?

That list is insane. I played many of the previous games and half that list are 90/100 or more. I gave Kingdom Battle a 96 when I scored it. I am so pumped for this list it's not funny! And Kirby looks like GOAT of Kirby games.

2022 already beats out 2017 and surely there will be more announcements for the second half of the year. Also add Mario Strikers to that list above.

2022 is the first year of the Switch to seriously challenge or possibly dethrone the first-party lineup of 2017. And the third-party offerings seem to be at an all-time high as well.
Even in the likely event we don't get Switch 2 until 2024 or beyond, I have a feeling 2023 is going to be a much quieter year. That is, if several 2022 games like BOTW 2 don't get delayed.
And on the topic of Switch's 2017, I really want Super Mario Odyssey 2. We got 2 3D Mario games on the Wii, we should get 2 on the Switch (excluding ports). Super Mario Odyssey 2 would be a great October release, or first half of 2023 release.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 122 million (was 105 million, then 115 million) Xbox Series X/S: 38 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million. then 48 million. then 40 million)

Switch 2: 120 million (was 116 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

Haha it was a really good list until I notice this:
2017..........................................2022
Super Mario Odyssey - Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Still pretty good list and you forgot to include Pokémon Legends: Arceus & Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp.
