IMO both 2019 and 2021 easily topped 2017 for me.

Spoiler! Actually, I gotta say that first pet peeve is kinda strange considering that we know the Aegis contain litteraly a bank of everyones "ADN" meaning they're able to tap into unfamathoble powers beyond any other Blades. This isn't beyond disbelief in any stretch. More so, it reinforces his stand as an incredible powerful figure you should fear. Being defeated early on just like that by Mia, would've made this incredibly embarassing. As for the 2nd one. go look at the lyrics of "One Last You". She's pleading the whole time with God (Klaus)to get left another chance to be at Rex's side which she considers her love. This act is the last gift Klaus gives upon this world basically. Consider it kitch if you want, but this goes well in contrast with Jin's arc. For doing what he was supposed to do and actually letting go of Pneuma (like Jin couldn't with Lora), both get their final wish of reunion. That's it. Yet, in the end, it's to the player to decide if their also ready to invest their time to play a game which promises a long journey throughout a massive world. If you simply want something shorter, there's tons of games that does it too with shorter playtime. Personally, the 60-70 hours were more than justified by the end. |
I didn't say bad games are necessarily bad. Didn't mind the length of X or 1 which were similar. It's just that those games were interesting throughout, and this one not so much. And apparently you're telling me I need another 30 hours to fully understand it. But 60 hours should be plenty of time to tell a complete story. Anyway, those are my feelings. Not going to debate it any further.

That would be only like one new game and a remake at that. I hope this isn't true.
Maybe the are going to announced the cliff?

I expect a new Zelda video right before the launch of Horizon Forbidden West with a launch window of holiday 2022. We should get an exact date and the subtitle at Summer Game Fest later this year.
Then we should get more info about Kirby and Advance Wars. Maybe Triangle Strategy. I expect a lot more info about Splatoon 3 and a release date for June. A dedicated Splatoon 3 Direct should follow in April/May.
Maybe we also see Bayonetta 3 and Mario & Rabbids, but I think these titles will be release in the second half of the year and won't be part of this Direct.
I expect a big direct. Even if they don't announce sh*t they will have Splatoon 3, Kirby and definitely some kind of Mario game announcement. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 should be there as well. Nate says it was supposed to be presented last year in February and released in December but plans changed with optimization and covid so by delaying it they probably just planned to keep the same marketing plan just 1 year later since it worked well with XC2.
I expect to see Zelda Botw 2. Even if the chances of it releasing this year are like 30-40% in my mind, i feel like they are still planning to do so and they will want to start a bigger marketing push now (since next direct will be April or even June and that becomes a little late knowing Zelda games usually get a full year of big showing). Botw had a big gameplay trailer showing bits of the story, and key mechanics and several HOURS of gameplay at E3 like 8 months before it came out. So i don't feel like having the first real trailer for Botw 2 is farfetched since all we got right now was labeled as teasers. I do not expect a title reveal until like E3 if it still comes out this year.
But even if the game is planned to release in March 2023, i feel like we could still see it since we haven't seen it since 8 months and they said they would show it again last year but they didn't. I also think the last trailer didn't get the reception they anticipated, it was a pretty underwhelming one. I feel like even if everyone knows it is probably not representative of what the game is, they need to get something to hype up the sequel.
I think the cutoff for announced games will be late May or late August, depending on how many General Directs they plan this year.
I’m not a big fan of General Directs because they tend to just show random footage that says next to nothing about most of the 20-35 games. They also talk like the audience is a toddler’s birthday party. I’m left with a cross between feeling patronized, infantilized, and not giving a fuck about 90-95% of what they’ve shown.
I don’t know, maybe that’s the audience. I mean, watch YouTube reaction videos. They’re full of grown men acting like N64 kid. OH MY…..GODDD! It’s Wario Cook Ware! OH MY GOD! Yoshi’s Cookie 2! *spins on the floor* YES! YES! YES! It’s a Peach Amibo, and she has a new hat!!!
The more focused and in depth Directs are more my jive. Even if the game isn’t something I’d probably get, I still find them much more interesting.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
