So, you are telling me this is worse than Star Wars Sequel trilogy compared to the previous two trilogies?

Star wars original trilogy was perfect. Brilliant cinema.

The trilogy from the 90s was cringe, boring, horrible CGI, special effects worse than the ones in the 80's. The recent star wars films were nothing other than cash grabs, horrible actors that overact, and lost all star wars magic. and had cringe humour targeted to kids.

With that said I actually enjoyed Rogue One for some reason, maybe the actors were better, cinematography was better, it would still not make it to my top 500 movies of all time.

Wow, just wow.. I mean this wasn't totally awful, Franchise ruining like Last Jedi or Rise of Skywalker (Revolutions already pretty much did that), but it was still laughably bad for the most part. I laughed multiple times in the first act and I think I said out loud "this is some stupid hipster bullshit!" I just couldn't stop thinking that for most of the first act. Seeing Neil Patrick Harris wearing neon blue glasses asking Neo if he "felt triggered", I seriously felt like *I* was living in the Matrix.. But maybe that was the point? XD

I will say it did get more entertaining by the second act, (I mean it went from laughably awful to mediocre). But yeah, overall just bad.. Felt like a fan fiction more than a legit sequel. Why can't these filmmakers and artists just leave well enough alone? Why do they insist on continually pissing on my childhood in just about all avenues?

I think Force Awakens did a far better job at continuing a dormant movie franchise than Matrix Resurrections. But I hate 8/9.

Revolutio is mediocre so it's not like it's going to ruin anything, the series is already ruined

Revolutions, while not the best Matrix, was way way better than this new rubbish movie. It was better in every way possible, they didn't need to show you footage of the first movie, because they had the ability and intelligence of coming up with a story and ending. Actors were amazing and Keanu reaves was on the top form.

Now the actors are too old to do action, hence the cuts everywhere and bad choreography.

CGI was better in revolutions and that was made almost 20 years before. We should demand movies to improve in tech, not to get worse. But if people like you will just take it, then what's the point of them even spending money and time to do a proper movie, it sells anyway.

Revolutions would get an 8 from me, ressurections would get a 3, so bad I didnt even bother to finish watching it.

Revolutions is just a trash movie from 2 directors who had no idea of how finish a trilogy because Matrix wasn't supposed to be a trilogy in first place. All substance was wastened in Reloaded giving absolutely nothing to Revolutions other than 2 hours of mindless action. I have no doubt Resurrections is bad, because it have been a decade since Wachowski released a good hence why I won't even bother to see it, but people seems to have affective memory from bad things they watched when they were younger even when those movies were never good in first place, Matrix Revolutions is one of those things.

The Force Awakens used to be extremely loved once. I remember when it was first released and every sould that watched it rated it as good sequel (unlike the prequel trilogy that was HATED). I remember that I liked, but never felt it was a sequel rather a remake of the first movie looking at how unoriginal was everything about it, but we can't say it wasn't a loved movie seeing how much it earned in box office and how much it sold DVD/BD

Then came the Last Jedi, which is the best Star Wars movie, and people started hating the sequel trilogy as a whole and surprisingly the prequel trilogy started to be less hated, even appreciated to some extent while the opinion from the Force Awakens came from overwhelmingly positive to mixed-to-positive

I'm gonna give it a chance because I really enjoyed Cloud atlas and sense8. I thought they were both pretty amazing.

well well just got back from the cinema. Aaaand... I enjoyed it. Have fun ^^

Well, that fucking sucks. I kind of wanted to see it.

I'll probably watch it some time later, though. Out of curiosity. And also, it won't ruin the original series story for me. Impressions on the second and third film were poor on their releases as well, but in the context of the full three film series the second and third film work a lot better. I hated them the first times I watched them, quite like them after watching the three together.

I mean, sometimes I don't agree with the crowd. The Last Jedi was exceedingly unpopular, but I quite liked it. Not on the same level as Rogue One or A New Hope, but maybe my third favourite (albeit, a distant third).

The later Star Wars films all had better actors than the older ones, and Rogue One does have more scenes that benefitted from the acting. I think I had Rogue One as my second favourite film of that year.

I think what made Rogue One better was the gritty organic feeling, it felt much less like a children's film. The world felt more alive than any of the other films in the series. The prequels suffered (for me, at least) because they did nothing really out of the ordinary - they felt like every other Jon Woo/Michael Bay style blockbuster. The dialogue was (as the kids say) "cringe" as fuck - pukingly melodramatic; it didn't even bother me that much before until people started memeing lines and posting them unironically (over and over and over again). They had good scenes in them, though. I thought the Emperor/Palpatine killed it in nearly every scene he acted in.

Of all the prequels and sequels, Rogue One did more to enhance the original 1977 Star Wars film than any of them. That's not even one of the reasons I loved it, just something I appreciate about it. The biggest part for me in regards to that wasn't even sealing the plot hole in a very satisfying way, but that it made me actually care about the Rebels. For me, feeling carried over to the original Star Wars film.
