20.  Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

Nope, you're getting close, but this is main line entry.

Doh!  There are several Zelda games I haven't played or have a poor memory of.  Is it Twilight Princess?

No unfortunately not. Since we're so close now I might as well specify: It's one of the first 3D games.

Is it Ocarina of Time?

More clues from me:

17.  a)  The game has one of my favorite characters in the series: a badass samurai ghost.
b) A female party member becomes the main protagonist in the sequel.

15. a) This game was made in response to parents complaining to the developer that RPGs are games where people murder and steal.
b)  While I played this game on the NES many PC gamers consider this the best RPG of the 80s.

14.  Use a hammer to cut down trees.

13.  This SRPG series was released after Fire Emblem in Japan, but before Fire Emblem in the US.  Second game.

12.  Only one of three playable characters uses the weapon in the title of this game.  Although I suppose the main villain does too.

14: Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

Correct!

More hints for my games:

15. a) This game was made in response to parents complaining to the developer that RPGs are games where people murder and steal.
b)  While I played this game on the NES many PC gamers consider this the best RPG of the 80s.
c)  The lead developer of this game had the nickname "British", so he decided to put an NPC in every game in this series that would represent him.

13. a) This SRPG series was released after Fire Emblem in Japan, but before Fire Emblem in the US.  Second game.
b)  In this game your party can consist of centaurs, werewolves, hawkmen and a variety of other creatures.

12.  a) Only one of three playable characters uses the weapon in the title of this game.  Although I suppose the main villain does too.
b)  This game is playable both in the arcade and on the Genesis.

11.  This RPG is the last one that the series creator worked on from beginning to end.

#15: Oh Lord British, I am your faithful subject. I think the first on NES is Ultima III. BTW, the original Dragon Quest took design ideas from Ultima and Wizardry, so JRPGs are based on these games.

#13: I think this must be Heroes of Might and Magic II.

#23 This game was originally going to release with an entire province the player could explore but was cut and instead took place on an island within the province.

Hint #2 The setting is very unique compared to most games in the same genre.

Hint #3 You can use magic items and spells that let you super jump, levitate, and fall slower.

#21 In this game you can fly around space and land on various moons.

Hint #2 In this game you have a special pair of boots that make traversal easier.

Hint #3 There are puzzles in which you record yourself then replay the old versions of yourself to open a door.

23- Morrowind

Correct

Hollow Knight (PS4, PC)

YoY: =

The best metroidvania game ever made as far as I'm concerned, Hollow Knight is a perfect example of a game taking influence from a number of different sources and making them its own in an absolutely wonderful way. From the obvious Metroid and Castlevania influences in terms of world structure, to the inspiration taken from Dark Souls when it comes to the way it handles leveling and how the world often twists around itself, Hollow Knight is in many ways an amalgamation of the best aspects of a number of different video games.

However, it's the brilliant design of the world that rewards exploration, the understated storytelling, numerous interesting characters you meet on your journey, the gorgeous visual style and soundtrack, and the absolutely brilliant gameplay that make Hollow Knight much more than the sum of its inspirations. The combined feeling of dread, awe and discovery was prevalent throughout the experience, and it made traversing the kingdom of Hallownest wonderfully rewarding. Hollow Knight is one of the absolute best games of the last 10 years, and a title I will be going back to many more times in the future.

Both are really good guesses but incorrect.  However, you are really close on 15.

I'll hazard a guess at Golden Axe

  • Anyone who managed to complete this PS1 game without a guide book (which I used but still found the game to be difficult) or cheats certainly has my respect. Difficulty is mostly derived from the fact that levels are full of deadly traps, as well as lots of timed puzzles that kill you if not completed in time, and it not always being obvious where to go or what to do next, despite levels being very linear.
  • This was the second entry in the series. The third one was even harder - there more traps in levels and it was even less clear exactly what you had to do to advance. Oh, and the third game had limited saves that you had to find in the levels.

That's gotta be Tomb Raider II.
