As we have seen on the Switch a lot of games have benefited from the "Switch effect" selling on steroids on the console and setting records for their respective series. Do you think this is Metroid's big break? Will it sell well on the console?

This is the chance the series needs it is on a popular console with lots of life left in it still and on a console with a lot of core gamers.

I am thinking 2.5-3 million in sales.

It will sell 1 million on its first quarter and then we will never know anymore, as Nintendo have a sales floor to update their games sales

2 million. $60 price is gonna hold it back. If it was priced reasonably at like $40 i think it'd do 4 million, but alas.

2 million should be doable. If not, I might be a while untill we see 2D Metroid again.

Nah guys, this is it, this is the one, we’re gonna hit 4 Million with this baby!

I think the minimum is 3 million. There’s just so much pent up demand, there’s the Switch effect, but most importantly there just isn’t that much competition internally for those sales. It also helps that it doesn’t get the usual release window of August, which isn’t nearly as sweet a sales window as October going in to the holidays.

Of course, if this game gets panned and lands a bunch of 7s and low 8s review-wise we could definitely be looking at another Other M, but at this point I don’t think that is likely.

I absolutely believe that Dread will be the best selling Metroid to date, and that milestone will last until MP4 breaks it to pieces.

Finally Metroid will earn its place among the “average-to-good” pantheon of Nintendo titles in terms of sales figures.
