(I didn't play the first game but) the stuff with the bombs in the trailer looked to be moving in real-time.

In the first game, you'd plan pick the space you want to move to, including any enemies you wanted to melee or ally's you want to jump off of, and then it would play out when you hit confirm. Though that was what was going on here, but could maybe I was wrong.

Hmmm, the way they cut the trailer made me think that you have full movement control inside the bubble and using certain actions would end your turn (kind of like Valkyria Chronicles or Codename STEAM). Looking at gameplay for the first game, I'm inclined to think this is the direction for the new game but it could just be a trailer trick. The reason I think this is a change is largely because that white "bubble" is visible while the characters are taking actions. Judging from gameplay from the first game, the grid would only be visible during planning and disappear while you are executing your action so this seems to imply you have control over your character there.

This is awesome! I enjoyed the first one a lot! Can't wait for the sequel!

Haven't played the first game but I really like that this one will have more involved exploration, according to an interview with one of the creators there'll be different planets to explore with NPCs and secrets and all that.

I would've been fine with just more of the first game, but they look like they changed things up enough to feel fresh. Looking forward to this one.

When 2022 is shaping up to become a lookalike 2017, lol.

We basically getting Splatoon 3, Mario + Rabbids sequel and if BOTW sequel is to released next year, then it sure sound like next year's gonna be a blast !

Evolving the mechanics to be more on the action side isn't too bad since they'll probably change enemies tactics accordingly. Just hoping this doesn't make the game easier because of this. First game had the right amount of difficulty (meaning it had good challenges !). Also, I'm happy they've changed the exploration segment into wilder section.

I mean ... I'm hoping this year ends up being like 2017 in terms of game output too. Especially since 2020 was a bad year for new games (good year for me though, but y'know)

It's kind of funny how all the cool game announcements we're getting (and yes I'd say this is at least somewhat neat) are for 2022. E3 will definitely change that, I just hope it's by a lot.

I don't wanna a situation like X-com 2. Time Limit kill the game for me.

and we need another battalion wars/ advanced wars

I'm not sure if I'll get this myself, but it's still nice to see a major new game announcement for Switch, feels like ages since the last time that happened.

Yeah this year's gotten off to a great start on Switch with Monster Hunter Rise and Crash 4, but at this point the only game I'm buying for the rest of the year is No More Heroes 3. I hope there's more worth getting for the next 6 months that we just haven't seen yet.

Anyway, I suspect BOTW2 will be 2022 so yeah it does look like it could end up as 2017 Version 2.0. Who knows, we might even get the next Monolith Soft game then too, that'd be a real mirror image.

Though it is annoying to wait, the upside of so many Switch games being 2022 is that the system clearly isn't head for the kind of massive dropoff of support as befell the Wii in 2011.

I wonder how many of these games would've been 2021 had the pandemic not occurred.
