Forums - Sales Discussion - Famitsu sales: Week 13, 2021 - (Mar 22 - Mar 28)

Lower sale than expected for MHR, word of mouth will be good tho. I'm sure the digital ration is high
Switch did pretty great tho.

Hold on, PS5 did great this week damn finally.

PS5 continue to exceed expectations in Japan after its slow start.

It seems all but certain that it will outsell PS4's 1st year. In about 2 weeks it'll take the lead and then follow that with a stream of exclusives and/or major releases (Returnals/Resident Evil 8/Deathloop/Ratchet and Clank/FFVII Intergrade) which will only increase the lead. I wonder if there is some sort of Monster Hunter World re-release on the scedule as we're seeing with FFVII or at least a port like Genshin Impact/FFXIV

Mostly due to stock issues, 94% of the physical release were sold.

I can't recall. What was the sell through for Monster Hunter World physical during the first week?

The Astro Bot demo must be red hot in Japan

Lol, Im genuinely curious about its reception. The team said they'll have some news to share this year. I'm thinking either a port of the VR game or a brand new title built from Playrooms foundation.

Good to have numbers. 92% isn't that different from 94%.

Media create numbers are always a little different from Famitsu though.

1,350,412           80-100%

I think with that in mind, Famitsu predicted higher sell through than Media Create.

Animal Crossing week had 380k last year. Switch should still lead YoY and will increase the gap during April, because of stock issues 2020.

yeah, but Famitsu don't track online stores. And don't have the percentage. Media Create was a better estimate tracker.

Of course Media create has always been considered better. I just prefer apples to apples comparisons. Monster Hunter Rise numbers are only Famitsu.
