Interesting to see how the Nintendo votes are distributed across the three different eligible systems.
SNES in the lead is expected, but N64 is closer than I expected and NES lower.

My fondest memories of nostalgia is the N64...
The NES was my second console...
But the one that is objectively the best, even though I was playing on the competition that generation...is...
The SNES.
Poor Mega Drive. I had a lot of fun with the four Sonic the Hedgehog games, and a friend of mine had QuackShot Starring Donald Duck, one of the best 16-bits Disney games.
But my vote still goes to SNES, with PS1 really close.

Of course, when you say "the Amiga", you are likely talking about the home computer Amiga 500 ... Consoles were cheaper and had the better games while PCs had better graphics and audio |
It can't get more clueless than this...
None of the consoles from the 20th century are my favorite (of course, that could be because they are from after my time and I was born in '97), but I would have to say that my favorite of the bunch is the Nintendo 64! Mario 64 & OoT are masterpieces, coupled with great multiplayer games like GoldenEye, MK64, SSB and 3 Mario Parties. It's really unfortunate that Nintendo lost third party support with this system. Just imagine how much it would've sold if we could include games like FF7! It's also a shame we didn't get a new Metroid on the 64, but I still prefer the 64 over the other 20th century consoles.
SNES because its games hold up better than the other systems. PS1 hasn't aged very well due to polygon graphics. Genesis has a massive library just brimming with hidden gems, but several SNES games are borderline perfect. Chrono Trigger, FF6, Super Mario World, LttP, and Super Metroid were groundbreaking, and still hold up well today.

In the 90s the ultimate console combo was Marty and Jaguar. You got access to every game that mattered.

Depends on the games. I could make a long list of PS1 and Saturn games that held up well great in spite of the limited 3D capabilities.
5th gen consoles have tons of gems as well. They just haven't gotten as much attention or rereleases.
5th gen consoles arguably had better or more notable JRPGs. They had much better fighting games, which certainly mattered to me. Lots of arcade ports that were much closer than the previous gen. Super Metroid is notable but so is Castlvania: SOTN. Super Mario World is one of the greatest games ever, there is no equal.
