Forums - Gaming Discussion - Update: Other Sonic cast members may be replaced as well | The end of an era, RCS is no longer the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog

tbh I don't care who the VA is, just make a decent game Sonic Team

Was his debut in Sonic Colors?

That's ok. I don't hate em, but he did not leave the same impact that the previous VA's for Sonic left on me.

Interesting. He voiced Sonic for a long time.

And Mike Pollock is still Robotnik/Eggman.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 151 million (was 73, then 96, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million)

PS5: 115 million (was 105 million) Xbox Series S/X: 57 million (was 60 million, then 67 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

Damn shame, I really enjoyed him as Sonic.

Personally, my #1 Sonic VA is Jason Griffith, yeah Sonic X isn’t all that good. But he REALLY started hitting his stride around Unleashed and Black Knight. But RCS was no slouch. He definitely got the ‘cocky prick’ part of Sonic’s character down to a tee.

But while we’re on the topic, I have an idea on Sonic’s new VA! Max Mittelman!!!

Sega has always had a habit of replacing voice actors on the Sonic games

Well, I mean, that's kind of necessary.

A shame but cycles must end, I enjoyed his performances.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Ezio/Batman/Wonder Blue/Sonic/Chris Redfield and more. RCS was the best Sonic ever. One of the better VA's out there and certainly better than the overrated Baker and North.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Remember when Urkel was Sonic?

I remember.

I don't give a damn about Sonic's voice. Nobody plays Sonic games for the story, we just want the cut scenes to end so we can get on to the next level

While I don't play Sonic specifically for the story, I still enjoy the stories and voice acting personally. If nobody cared about the Sonic story, Sonic wouldn't have had multiple successful tv shows and movies/OVA's over the years, nor would Sonic have had 20+ years of successful Archie and IDW comics:

You're right, some people obviously do care about the story, especially in the larger Sonic universe.  My real point there was that I don't think there are many people that think Sonic's voice in a given game is of any importance.  These arent story driven games, his voice has changed a bunch, many of us don't care about story elements in Sonic games at all, and a whole host of other facts lead me to that conclusion.
