At this point I wouldn't be surprised if titles like MHW2, SF6, DD have PS5 exclusivity (PC at launch or later).

Again, Capcom has already said that MHR is the next mainline title. If there would be a MHW2, then just as a spinoff title.

You don't think Capcom is working on MHW2 right now?

Quite possible that it is. But he's implying MHW2 would be the next mainline title, which just ain't true. Also, I'm not convinced on PS exclusivity, but that's another debate.

Why not include Wii sales of Okami so we compare between 2 Ninty consoles and 2 Sony?

Maybe because the titles is Okami HD...

I like how you forget the PS2 SKU as well...

Except someone earlier pointed out ME is included in your figures it's not a nice try it's reality something you're having a hard time grasping in the many threads you go in.

Edit:

Capcom's official page

https://www.capcom.co.jp/ir/english/finance/million.html

This basically shows those figures include ME and that your Iceborne numbers are incorrect so again not a nice try it's just reality.

Nope. Capcoms internal data leak is formatted differently to their external one.

Nice try again.

You're being disingenuous with the Switch sales, missing the context that it was a (very) late port. A good amount of the games you previously mentioned (Atelier, P5S, etc.) were not on a Nintendo console before so their sales on Switch only add to what the PS4 versions eventually sold. The only exception is the Trials of Mana remake, though it may have been different in the West. By the way, why isn't the Collection of Mana not on PS4? :P

Those added sales are only a good thing. Hopefully with MHR and Stories 2, Capcom will build a greater partnership with Nintendo just like Koei Tecmo has during this period. Can only be good things if they continue to work together.

Just like the PC and Xbone versions of MHW only added to the sales of the PS4 version, which is a good thing for the brand.

I dunno, prob another exclusive deal Nintendo paid for. They seem to be doing that a lot for the smaller games, as those are the only ones they can get. The big exception being MH Rise, but its also coming to PC. Further Capcom leaks show two timed SW exclusives and unsurprisingly they seem to be A-AA games.

Not really, its common sense another SKU will add to sales. My point is that the JP publishers, Capcom, SE rely on Playstation more than all other platforms combined. This gives Sony a lot of leverage on them, hence why Playstation has been getting so many third party exclusivity deals:

Capcom: SF5, RE7 VR, MHW, Deep Down

SE: FF/KH collection, Star Ocean, Scarlet Saga, KH 2.8, FF7R, Project Athia, FF16

Man would I like to get into your head and see what you're thinking. How can you look at the data and get so different a conclusion than literally almost everyone else.

I just linked you to Capcom's recent numbers it shows on the page itself (as of September 30, 2020) well done you proved my whole point about you not grasping reality now you're basically saying Capcom's own numbers to investors are wrong to continue your narrative. Here's a basic rule of the forum and you can ask a mod if you want in an objective debate you have to back up your claim with a source you can't just try to declare something is wrong for the sake of trying to continue a debunked argument and right now we have Capcom's very own investor report backing us and you with no source telling us that Capcom gave different figure elsewhere which would make it a legal issue as publicly traded companies have to have accurate figures in their external report plus format doesn't change sales numbers.

You're going to have to provide an official source from Capcom that backs your claim.

They just released the sales numbers of Okami HD, the Wii and PS2 versions were not in HD. According to our Database here, both the Wii and PS2 versions sold ~600k, plus 430k for the DS game. Comparing PS2/3/4 vs Wii/DS/Switch, and you get more or less a parity on sales - and that's despite the Wii and the Switch versions were late ports (2 years late for the Wii, 6 years after the PS3 and one year after the PS4/XBO/PC version).

Still, the Switch version sold best despite releasing after the other ones. And the fact that the PS4 version is lagging behind the PS3 and PC versions is telling the audience of the PS4 has slowly shifted away from non-blockbuster or pure otaku Japanese titles.

PS4 version is obviously affected by the PS3 version: many people have already played Okami HD on PS3.

I love how you had to resort to using SD versions just because Playstation was beating Nintendo handily.

MHW was called MH5 internally and now publicly. It was made by the mainline team with the prior mainline director.

MHW2 is called MH6 internally at Capcom.

MH Rise is made by the Generations team.

Never seen someone get so much wrong and still act like they're right.

The data shows my conclusion above everyone else's:

Capcom: MHW >50% sales on PS, Okami HD >= 50% sales on PS, DMCV >50% sales on PS

SE: FF 70-80% sales on PS, KH 70-80% sales on PS, FF7R 100% sales on PS as of now

Playstation had an utterly dominating 66% of Capcom packaged games sales.

Seems like you guys are the one reading the data wrong.

Keep this same energy when MH Rise and stories release next year. Compare the numbers and % then from Capcom.

Also got to love how you are comparing Okami on PS3 and 4 to just Switch.

Switch released last. There is a chance it may yet outsell both PS3 and 4 versions combined.

And your point about Okami PS3 affecting PS4. The same can be said for Switch and the Wii/DS releases. Contrary to popular belief most don't care enough to buy a game a second or third time just for a small resolution bump. The fact that the Switch version is top seller is an achievement in of itself.

And I love how you need to have a delayed launch of the Nintendo version to get Playstation look good against the Switch.

Seriously, both the Wii and the Switch versions were late ports, but that's something you don't want to take into account as it would invalidate your claim. And yet you still needed 2 consoles to beat just one.

Ehm...

Did you seriously needed to look for a rumor to try and invalidate what is already known? And a shady one at that, because that one looks wayyy too good to be true. Also, it used both Resident Evil and Biohazard despite both of them being 2 different names for the same game series.

Besides, the only thing that was actually leaked was that there will be a port of MHR... but for PC, not any Playstation platform: https://www.vg247.com/2020/11/16/monster-hunter-rise-pc-resident-evil-village-release-date-capcom-leaks/

So looks like the Playstation had just a short stint with the Monster Hunter license and went back to Nintendo now...

Also, again, mainline:

"much like World, Rise retains all the DNA of the monster hunter series that we know and love and is not considered a derivative or spin-off title"

This thread is pure comedy at this point

SRC, do you think MH Rise will sell more than MH World PS4? Reason why I ask is because I don't think it matters if Rise is mainline or not. It will send the Switch sky high regardless. Like if its not mainline do you think it will flop or something? I just don't see the point of mentioning Rise not being mainline when its likely to have the same effect mainline or not.

SRC just going the same way as quickrick. I mean his ramblings are creating memes, just like the infamous cliff! Even given the similarities, i don't think it's Quickricks' alt. He has more posting similarities to Fatslob tbh.
