@curl-6 "So what actually happens with these, are they all combined/averaged together to form an overall "VGC top 50 games" list?"
More like a TOP 1000 list, see last years result.

I'll do my first bulk of reveals/hints in groups of 10. So here they are:
50 - This game's theme song was so popular and well-liked they released it on the video game Rock Band
49 - The PS2 and Xbox 360 versions of the game were mostly identical but the Xbox 360 version had a bit more unique content.
48 - This beloved classic leaned into the genre's more campy elements and is widely considered a masterpiece for it.
47 - This game left people wondering if the protagonist was human or not, given his relations to other humans within the game world.
46 - Your ally is a vegetable and your enemy is an idiot.
45 - What's gravity? Infinity, that's what.
44 - This game was made by one person, and is an homage to an SNES classic.
43 - Starts linear and 8-bit; the plot twist is that the second half is a metroid-vania in 16 bit.
42 - For the first time ever in this sequel, you can play as the main hero's best friend, and they have their own unique campaigns.
41 - One of the side quests has you learning a dude is in love with his horse and probably much more.
My Console Library:
PS5, Switch, XSX
PS4, PS3, PS2, PS1, WiiU, Wii, GCN, N64 SNES, XBO, 360
3DS, DS, GBA, Vita, PSP, Android

The beauty of SO is in the joy of movement, is inherently fun to move around your character, with the simple and effective parkour across walls, wires, and the like to keep the momentum going, combined with a satisfying gun play is an incredibly fun time, gamey af. The over the top, comedic nature of the story helps a lot to contextualize the gameplay across crazy enough scenarios to take advantage of such fun movement.
RIP, never getting a sequel.
