FYI, as the link says, these software sales include bundled and digital copies.

Interesting to note that the combined sales of Mario Kart 8 on Wii U + Switch has now just barely surpassed Mario Kart Wii (37.3m) technically making it the best selling game in the series. I wouldn't be surprised if Deluxe managed to pull this off on its own before the end of the Switch's life though.

Software sales are ever so slightly lower than I anticipated for this quarter, namely New Horizons which had an insane trajectory that made it seem like it would manage even more. But it still did pretty wild numbers compared to the average release. 26 million in six months??? Also Origami King did well. I do wish they would update us on some games that didn't reach 1 million in this fiscal year, because it really would be interesting to see where some games like Fire Emblem land, that one has to be over 3m by now making it the best selling in the series and genre.

Goddamn they never cease to amaze. Almost 7 million Switches shipped.
I haven't been entirely convinced so far, but now I think they definetely have a shot at beating the DS peak year of 08.

Thanks Shikamo, added to the OP! :)

Wait did Animal Crossing lose it's legs? I could have sworn it would be at 30-40 mil by now considering how fast it was selling before. But then again Christmas might make AC get a huge boost so I'll wait and see.

Switch is going to surpass the 3DS in the same year the latter is finally retired.
