Forums - Sales Discussion - August NPD 2020: Switch 504k, PS4 197k, XBO 45k

So how many home console records does the Switch own now? Im thinking Sept, Oct, and maybe even Nov are in trouble lol. Dec for Wii 2009 is just simply too high.

Next year, 2021 that record is going down.

Better holiday inventory building with increased production, get new 3D Mario/Zelda out there, maybe some new Nintendogs/Wii Sports-esque casual title.  Switch Pro @349.99, OG @249.99, Lite @169.99.

That'll get it done.  4M easy (lol).

November in general is in trouble lol. Wii best november (2.04M) > DS best November (1.7M)

2020 predictions: NSW 25m, PS5 6m, XSX 4.5m, PS4 9m, XB1 3m

In December 2019 i predicted 21m Switch, but that was before COVID, obvius increased my predictions.

The way the Switch keeps exceeding even the most optimistic expectations (unless tbone predicted ∼500k :P)

Dat jump for FFVIIR, Super Mario Odyssey and Luigi's Mansion 3.

Switch adjustments completed to be in the range of what we know. If we get PS4 and Xbox One sales I'll adjust those if need be.

I was at once worried Switch could lose its first month since 2018 this November but I'm not at all anymore. People are going to flip out over Switch > PS5 headlines come November NPD. Even though it should probably be expected.

Ok so counting eshop sales: Who sold more, Modern Warfare or New Horizons ?

Nintendo games dominating the top 20 and without digital sales. Madness!
Zelda over Last of us 2 without digital is also crazy! Seems Zelda will handily win this battle.

New Horizons most likely, but we do not have eshop data by month, just Nintendo sales.

Another strong month incoming, last year the Switch did >400K in September with Link’s Awakening being the biggest exclusive game launching.

This year it's me, Super Mario 3D Collection. Also, Hyrule Warriors' pre-orders seem to have started off very well. Pikmin on the other hand doesn't chart in the September Top 100 for now.
