It's gotta be a lack of talent in the 343 team. They should pull back on showing Infinite and instead put a better looking game at the forefront, it looks embarrassing.

You know Halo Infinite is a Sandbox right? And it looks great for the genre its showcasing. Sandbox style games are not the easiest games to make when it comes to visuals. Its all about the gameplay.. you know, what Halo has always been about. 343 delivered on the Gameplay, Sound, Music, Story and openworld with what they have shown so far. If all you are looking for is visuals than Halo was never for you, go play the Crysis or Killzone series, those games are all about graphics and lackluster in Gameplay. If you want an amazing story with great AI and Gameplay with memorable Music and great Sound effects than pick up Halo.

Also, talent isn't always what makes the visuals, If you want visuals like RDR2 that's called crunch.

Such a dry show...

who in the right mind hypes up so much about having the most powerful device, biggest line up ever on any console, talks so much crap about buying up timed exclusive being anti consumer only to reveal 22 timed exclusive... And then a drab technical mess, graphically dated gameplay of what was supposed to be the game to showcase the "12 teragigaflopz" power...

The only two games that actually has got my interest is Stalker and avowed both which are just trailers.... Couldn't even bother throwing in a little snip gameplay or a new trailer for hellblade.... Just a little.

4/10 stop over hyping stuff again.

I give it a 6. I wasnt hugely impressed with the showcase but then again, neither was I with the PS5 showcase. Both showed games that were heavily rumoured and didnt have many surprises. However, I thought the calibre of 3rd party games showcased in the PS5 event was just a tad better (personal opinion) than this event (not to mention that supposedly Sony still has some new games to be revealed) .

I am a bit surprised though that there weren't any unexpected 1st party game reveals, as I was thinking. I assumed that some of the new developers MS had purchased would use the additional cash to develop new games but it seems mostly to be sequels to their previous IPs. Though I do note that there were a number of 1st party devs that weren't featured, so maybe some are working on new IPs now?

Phil spencer: greatest lineup of all times, strongest console ever build
Reality : tlou2 and ghost of tsushima on ps5 will destroy everything we've seen today in terms of graphics!!!

If gaming is just about graphics, too many people are playing games with underwhelming visuals. I base that on the most active games.

No, you're absolutely right, gaming is not only about graphics, but considering Phil spencer day after day praising series x's power, praising this showcase to be True Next Gen demonstration and not getting tired of mentioning "greatest lineup of all time and strongest console ever build", this showcase was an absolute disappointment. Now they say halo gameplay was an very old build, this is embarrassing!!! This was the most important show this year and they show off a very old version of their biggest title??? Sorry but that's a joke

There is actual pop up in Halo Infinite...so much for the SSD eliminating the issue.

Whats weirder is that the pop on near field grass is something I haven't even seen in recent games like TLOU2 or Ghost. TLOU2 had distant pop in but halo literally had grass meters from the character pulling magic tricks. This couldn't have been a vertical slice that they have been working on for months, it just doesn't add up. In my head I'm thinking that they are working day and night to get this running on OG Xbox One and Series is subsequently an after thought

Would you mind sharing a link for that? I thought Infinite looked not fantastic, an old build would explain that.

Watch it early this morning. Didn't blow me away but didn't disappoint either. Especially since I'm a game pass subscriber. Pretty amazing that I'll be able to play all of these games if/when I get an Xbox SX.

On the downside, nothing really looked like it couldn't be done on current gen hardware aside from that dual dimensions game (which I already plan on buying). LOTS of new IPs, too. They don't get the same excitement but many could surprise. Everwild looked great, too.

I'll give it the same thing I gave the PS5 event--an 8/10

I have a PS4 Pro and I saw pop up in TLoU2. To the point where I commented that it was probably meant to run on a PS5. I was even shocked that digital Foundry never mentioned it. It got better as the game went on (or I just stopped noticing it) but saying it doesn't exist is just false.

*Edit* and re-reading your post, I now feel like a fool. My apologies.

I will go with 7.5/10. They showed a lot of games that has me excited to play on my PC. The problem is with Halo...

If you told me this game was in early access... I'd believe you... The gameplay itself looked fun but hot damn, the visuals was worse than I was expecting. Some aspects look fine but others just look meh. Gamepass is gonna be killer though.

Why does this look like a XB360 game thats been scaled up in resolution?
That doesnt even look current gen... much less next gen.
