I never played a paper mario game, but might get this out of boredom. Also, RFA doesn't have any digital sales. If other games had digital sales, RFA would be relatively a lot lower on the chart.

I’m curious how many digital sales RFA has as of now.

Even the digital version is out of stock and on the lottery system at the Nintendo Online Store, presumably because they still have to mail you the Ring controller and leg band.

It's like the hardware and software for each console flipped.

Switch - low side software but huge hardware.
PS4 - high side software but minimal hardware.

Switch - 288 k software and 100+k hardware

Ps4 - 240 k software and 5k hardware

Switch - ok side software and huge hardware

Sony - ok side software and nonexistential sales hardware.

I should edit my post.  I as more referring to the big game for the week for each rather than the entirety of software.

Switch - low side new game but huge hardware.
PS4 - high side new game but minimal hardware.

NSW - 23 (8 of which are third party)
PS4 - 7 (4 of which are third party)

Switch has 8/12 = 67% of third party titles this week.  Switch third party titles continue to dominate PS4 third party titles in the top 30 as they have for the past several weeks.  New titles came and went from the top 30 on both systems, but Switch has consistently had 60-80% of the third party titles for the past several weeks.  I expect this to be the norm going forward.

Just checked and Halo 5 charted with 7,4k copies in 2015. Can't think of anything since then that might have charted.

As far as I know the strongest sales week ever for an xbox game in Japan was Tales of Vesperia which debuted at 106k in 2008. Boosted the 360 to a whopping 25k sales that week. Incredible.

Edit: Actually it turns out Star Ocean: The Last Hope beat Vesperia by quite a bit at 164k in 2009. Hardware was around the same though.

Impressive to think the 360 might have competed with the PS3 for a single week during the 7th generation ...

After checking the hardware by date tool, it actually seems like there were around a dozen weeks where the 360 outsold the PS3 in Japan.

Out of several hundreds, but still.

Ghost of Tsushima outsold The Last of Us: Part II in one week. Pretty impressive!
