It'a one hit kills, fuck that.

Does it improve stealth? One hit kills is pretty tempting, especially if it goes both ways lol

You can have something close to that with your family armor maxed out and the power of the ghost. Go into challenge, you can kill 5 enemies with one hit, then with ghost you can kill another 3, this basically clean up a lot of the outposts to just remain a few one-on-one you can kill straight or through stealth if you chose.

I've a question but if it's got spoilers past act 2 it doesn't need answering. What is a ghost weapon?

All your weapons on the ghost tab, basically all weapons that aren't katana and arrow.

Yes I did, by storymode. I guess you aren't suppose to go there before you do it to clear main mission.

Yeah, but I don't think you get that message when you go there as part of the story. So I was wondering if its possible to clear it out beforehand. Because there is one village that's marked as red on the map, but has no enemies, because they show up later when it becomes a story mission. (The town where you forge the grappling hook.)

When I casually wondered near this city I took like 4 arrows straight to the body so I run away and kept doing my other missions because I saw that the city was the castle I was suposed to raid later.

Really enjoyable open world once I got the grappling hook. Was good before but there were some spots of confusion that now make sense with that tool.

Game looks unbelievable in motion during the right lighting conditions. Didn't think PS4 open world games could look this lively and flourishing. I can barely notice popin. The draw distance on vegetation and the sheer quantity of it at times is striking. I hope the ps5 enables native 4k60fps for this game and tlou2. Frame rate, ghosting artifacts from checkerboarding, these still hold visuals back from being as pleasing as possible.

The control scheme can get over whelming mid combat. You're character is able too do so much. However, this was a complaint I had with infamous 2 and second son. I felt more powerful at the end of infamous 1 than I did at any point in the sequels. Part of this was due to not having access to all powers at all times even when the inputs wouldn't really conflict with each other. Here, it's mostly not the case, and the game adds new tools fairly gradually so it's not too overwhelming. If I could make a single tweak: smoke bombs should just always be equipped. Left stick + r1 for other quick throwables, r1 only for smoke bombs.

Other than somewhat overwhelming controls, combat is damn fun. Especially once I got anti-spear stance and was allowed to kick people around. Timing parries and dodges was hard due to input delay at first, but I got used to it at this frame rate quickly enough.

Biggest gripes are:
1) I usually love stealth and it seems a little too easy in this game (playing on hard mode).

2) I wish kurusawa mode didn't necessarily butcher the audio quality. Would like that aspect of the mode to be a separate toggle. While we're at it, a new stylistic mode that keep the colors of flowers, non-green leaves, and blood but everything else black and white would be amazing

Didn't got overwhelmed by control because I basically done only samurai style whenever possible, the only ninja tool I used was kunai on some brutes because I hated their swapping attack. But yep I always attacked head on, rush to kill archers (always hate them, more when they break my combos), then just parry and attack rinse and repeat with occasional roll for unblokeable attacks. No need to really learn anything else =p when you master these.

My style so far has been archer till I spend most arrows, then samurai, and assassination only if I got beaten too many times

God bless You.

There were three ravens sat on a tree / They were as blacke as they might be / The one of them said to his mate, Where shall we our breakfast take?

https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2020/07/yakuza_director_heaps_praise_on_ghost_of_tsushima_laments_restrictions_of_japanese_game_development

As part of a SEGA livestream (translated by Kotaku), Nagoshi said "Foreigners who tickle the fancy of Japanese people more than Japanese people are... rather amazing, no?" Indeed, Ghost of Tsushima has been something of a blockbuster in Japan, where it almost immediately topped the software charts and sold out in stores.

Nagoshi goes on the praise the amount of research and effort that was put into the game, and says that the way in which Ghost of Tsushima combines organic exploration with storytelling is "so great". Given how dramatic and story-driven the Yakuza games are, it's also no surprise to hear that Nagoshi thinks highly of the performances in Ghost: "I don’t know the actors who did the motion capture, but the care given to their expressions is impressive."

My comments: It's fab to see a Japanese dev appreciating this game. I also agree they deserve kudos for the cut scene actor expressions.

Pushed on into act three yesterday. I'm really annoyed that, big spoiler...

Spoiler!
Those Mongol bastards killed my horse. So annoyed I put down the game but I'm getting over it and continuing on to get myself out of this frozen shithole, not that I've much to get back to cause I've the maps 95% cleared at least.
Spoiler!
I thought you were going to complain about being banned and hunted by your uncle, but losing the horse is sad as well.

Is this still in the game?

Cutting through an enemy spear, dividing it in half? And also severing an opponents arm?

Never really saw it happening, it could have but i didn't notice.

One thing. Spoiler tags are open when replying to someone, so in the future could you make a separate post for spoiler discussion as to not get the second person you reply to to accidentally read them when they reply to you?
I'm not sure how to delete those in my reply without making the rest of your post vanish along with it.

Either way, while trying to delete it, I saw the name of one character. Not sure what will happen to them, though I can guess. Not a big deal, but could have been worse.

Anyway, I feel like whenever an enemy holds up their spear like that, it means my attacks will get deflected. So seeing Jin cut it in half is surprising.
John says it's in the game though, but I haven't noticed either.

Didn't know that. Thanks for pointing it, will try to remember in the future.

Almost 100% of my attacks were paired when not the type of rush-in, so I only used counters.

I'll make them separate in the futures, yeah but can you point me to the post so I can edit it out?

It was my fault, you tagged your spoiler and I replied to it with also another spoiler tag, but seems like when using that on reply and having more than one person quoted those tags are open to the other person that is replying to you.

I'm now trying to master the perfect parry. I'm not there yet. I want the flash of steel and witness protection trophies. Yesterday I got the Have a nice fall.

Fall protection and witness protection I done after finishing the story, thankfully I checked the guide before going further because if not I could have had more hardships getting platinum.

They've gotta be doing something with fractals to achieve the draw distance below, I can clearly see fractal patterns in the foliage on the images below, at least on my 49 inch. The fact that you can die and instantly reload at the top of this shrine with almost no pop in is mind boggling, i'd be impressed if it had one minute loads. The first image is looking south and the second north, you can quickly rotate the camera and have only minor pop in in.

The camera angle you chose just above the water in the second screenshot was such great placement.
