I played close to all Mario games and all Ratchet and Clank games.

Tough call, there are some lesser ones in both series.
Ratchet and Clank a Crack in time was brilliant, Mario Galaxy as well.

Without counting Super Mario Maker I give the edge to Ratchet and Clank for added humor and new game + modes.

Ratchet and Clank

Mario 64 is still one of my favorite games, and Odyessy is the reason I bought a Switch, but those are the only two 3D Mario games I have enjoyed.

I didn't like the Ratchet and Clank games on PS2, but I have liked every entry in the franchise on PS3 and the lone PS4 title. Looking forward, the new PS5 title looks like it is going to be the massive leap in innovation thanks to the new possibilites the I/O & SSD are offering.

So yeah, as far as 3D Mario's vs Ratchet goes, I have to give the win to R&C.
