Madden is a very US centric franchise, so that delay is understandable.
The PS5 event on the other hand is highly anticipated all around the world and postponing it would do the perception of the Black community absolutely no favors. Sony has already showed their support for the cause on twitter and might include another nod in the presentation and I think that's the best kind of action they can take concerning the situation.

Sony has postponed the event. I don't think gamers should take frustration with the postponement out on African Americans who simply do not want to be killed by cops anymore. What is your take now?

I wasn't aware the date coincided with the memorial service for George Floyed and in light of that it's the right decision to postpone the event, especially after Sony expressed strong support of the BLM movement.
The Black community has every right to protest the situation of police brutality and outright murder against them especially in but not limited to the US and I would be very happy if that shit was finally addressed properly after in the last years the abundance of video recording devices made it crystal clear that the situation they have to deal with (for atleast decades - and it must have been even worse prior to the civil rights movement) is nothing short of inhumane.
Maybe I've become too jaded after having read about dozens of horrible murders at the hands of police since the eerily similar Eric Garner case 6 years ago, which pretty much all ended in nothing being done and officers often not even being charged or being acquitted and maybe I'm underestimating the (very very loose) gamer 'community' 's capability of empathy as it feels to me that very vocal elements are often successfully spreading cynical and divisive messages.
My stance is that the event should still happen pretty soon (within 2 weeks) - obviously a problem as long lasting, complicated and ingrained into the system as the one at hand won't be anywhere near 'solved' within that timeframe and judging by the administration in charge it won't even be acknowledged as a problem.
