Wonderful 101 isn't a Nintendo game anymore, though.

They still co-own the IP along with Platinum. Nintendo just gave the go-ahead to port it but they would have to fund it on their own.

Oh. Thanks for the info.

I really hope PlatinumGames patches the Switch version of the game so that we could run the game at 720p in docked mode. I care more about performance than 1080p.

I wouldn't expect it

Yeah, they did promise it would run at 1080p docked. It would be great if they allowed us to run the game at a lower resolution in docked mode, though.

I do agree, even more when it have been pretty standard that remasters and remakes from one gen to another got released with 60fps and the graphics took a second place. The eye candy and stuff life that was mostly reserved for new games.

But only if you own all versions of it. If the game supports Smart Delivery, then you own all versions.

If it doesn't support it and you bought the X1 version, you don't get to play the best version on Series X, only the BC version. If you bought the game on Series X then you can't play it on X1 at all.

Them we will have problems because the way I saw on ad it was across the board, about everygame on X1 would work on XSX (few exceptions) and all games that had improved versions, patches, whatever would have smart delivery., so you wouldn't ever have to buy it more than once.

I don't know the ad but Microsoft didn't imply that when they announced it. Official blog post:

"Smart Delivery: This technology empowers you to buy a game once and know that – whether you are playing it on Xbox One or Xbox Series X – you are getting the right version of that game on whatever Xbox you’re  playing on. We’re making the commitment to use Smart Delivery on all our exclusive Xbox Game Studios titles, including Halo Infinite, ensuring you only have to purchase a title once in order to play the best available version for whichever Xbox console they choose to play on. This technology is available for all developers and publishers, and they can choose to use it for titles that will be release on Xbox One first and come to the Xbox Series X later."

Madden NFL 21 will be on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X and while there is a free upgrade, it's only for a limited time, so it's not using Smart Delivery.

To me it's surprising that so many 3rd party devs chose to use it. With Cyberpunk, AC Valhalla, DiRT 5, Yakuza Like a Dragon and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 we already have quite a few heavy hitters and there are still tons of unannounced games left.

Of course I knew the 1st party studios were using it but other than that I expected only a few indie titles.

But let's not derail this thread any further.

I agree to not derail the thread. Will just put that this gen we got several games with crossbuy and free upgrades on the start of the gen.

Also This technology is available for all developers and publishers, and they can choose to use it for titles that will be release on Xbox One first and come to the Xbox Series X later.

The way it is phrased then what about games that launch at the same time on both? But thanks for clarifying that their release they only commit their titles and leave other devs to chose (I believe they would have some resistance from devs if they demanded all to follow).

Ultimately it's a port of a great game, that runs well on the PS4 and PC, and acceptably but not as well as it should on the Switch.

It someone wants to make a stand and refuse to buy it based on the fact that it's not as good as it could have been, by all means, vote with your dollars. But, especially for PS4 owners, who want a great action game, I'd have no problem recommending this.

That's a shame.. I didn't even really care for the original. Seemed like a colorful game thematically and cool concept similar to Pikmin, but gameplay just felt way too convoluted to me. Lost patience quickly.

To call it great is a stretch though. At most you liked it a lot.

Same, I really wanted to like it as Platinum are one of my favourite developers and it came at a time when us Wii U owners were starving for worthwhile content, but it just has so many glaring problems, from the limp combat to the clunky camera to the clumsy, gimmicky controls.

Personally, I'd warn PS4/Switch/PC owners to steer well clear of it, but ultimately they'll decide for themselves.

No, I more than liked it a lot.  It's one of my favorite games, and in my opinion definitely qualifies as great.
