I like you Truck and all but...

If it were any other user saying this it would be ban-worthy.Or at least there would be a warning.Just saying it.

No, it wouldn't.

Good to know.

Good to know that whenever I engage in a political thread. As long as it is a public figure, I can call him whatever I want, be it in a normal post or in the title of the thread.

I actually mean it, it's not meant as a jab.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

You are ignoring the point. The point is that one's medical prowess is unrelated to their being any of the things that were described. Tell me how those are exclusive to one another.

Ask the mod team, that's on them. I've never been one to think that insulting public figures should be out of bounds. I maintain that from when ioi banned people for insulting Michael Jackson after he died. If you're being belligerent and off topic you can get in trouble, but Truck's response was neither of those.

I don't consider what the original poster wrote as baiting/flaming, I just don't think you can whine about people commenting on the president being a shitty person when you bring it up. I also think the original post being replied to was just a shitty post. A shitty generalization which was never meant to bring forward the conversation. Truck's response was all such a post deserves.

The relation between him being a good or bad person and his medical prowess has nothing to do with it.But rather the slandering does. That's my point.

Even if he is a public person, he is a beloved public person, no matter how much you may disagree with me.More than it though, he is a beloved political beloved person.I agree completely with the Michael Jordan example, but it depends on the situation. If it were someone who kept saying annoying things about Michael Jordan in any thread that might have a relevance, then yeah it might be worth looking into, because that might be considered flamming. In another words, baiting people into fighting with you and entering such discussing in bad faith.

That's obviously not Truck case, because I don't remember him doing that regulary, but one such example off the top of my head of a user that was banned regarding this kind of "annoyance": Kerotan. He almost never did anything that was ban worthy according to the rules, but he always baited Nintendo fans in his discussing. In another words, he kept provoking people over and over again.Other example is Goodnightschrum(I think that's him, not sure now.Sorry if I'm confusing with someone else!), which was the same as Kerotan, but in regards to Sony fans.

In regards to the bolded: Then you can actually say that the thread is the original "original post being just a shitty post" because let's be honest, with a title like "Someone has a plan how to fight Coronavirus, but it is not the clown in the White House" you are not exactly being civil or at least nice to others who think otherwise. That actually is the definition of baiting/flaiming, as I understand it.I would actually say that even if it could be worded better, Radek response was the post this thread deserved.

you can make an argument that the original thread title is to blame for the whole series of events. Even with the thread title in mind, I agree with Truck that the post he replied to had terrible logic and I was considering replying in the same way. Just because someone does something good doesn't mean they are beyond reproach for other bad things they've done. It's poor logic.

Don't care that he's a beloved political person. If I think he's an idiot I'm going to say so (I do by the way), and until it becomes continuous and belligerent (and I'd argue it has to be off-topic) I don't think there's any issue.

Since it hasn't become continuous and belligerent I don't see how the examples provided apply.

Again, you can make an argument that the thread title is baiting. Ask a mod to change it if you want. I'd do it myself but I think they decide these things by committee these days and I wouldn't want to step on any toes. Also not sure I still have the ability.

Well, him finding a cure for cancer wouldn't change the fact he's a bigot misogynist racist trans-phobic orange clown.

Did site admin just say this? Maybe I really should leave this site...

The clown part of the thread title is unnecessary, and may likely warrant a change. But you;

1.) Brought up "bigot misogynist racist trans-phobic" out of nowhere
2.) T
o attack a group of people
3.) Using an example that makes no sense.

Yes, if people called Bowser a princess kidnapper, and he later found the cure for cancer, they'd still call him a princess kidnapper. Because curing cancer has nothing to do with the former.

But if you bring up and call out people of a certain opinion, at the very least expect them to reply.

Bolded: You are correct.I just though that the kind of response Truck gave was inappropriate, but I have been corrected.Just felt like it was unfair to Radek, since honestly, if I didn't kept it to myself, I would have written something similar to what he wrote, without the name calling of course.

Second paragraph: No problem at all.Just like I have to call out politics and it's policies, you have the same right.Again, though the response was inappropriate, but I was corrected and was given response by the mod team that it was ok and that wasn't baiting.

Third paragraph: As I said, dosen't apply to Truck because I don't remember him having a history of doing that, but I wanted to let that out because if that didn't happen before, it sure will in the past.It may be naive of me to think like this, but I believe there is a better way of saying you disagree with someone vision or behavior than calling names.Just because someone did a bad thing or had an inappropriate behavior, dosen't mean you have to go to his level. It's up to every one of us to keep discussion civil.

Nah, won't report. CGI and Ryu already posted in this thread.Meaning that they either know of the problem and don't care, and know and like it.Either way, I would just be losing my time. Also I don't need to point out that using a natural disaster to point fingers or have a petty war against someone with different view is silly and inappropriate. That's just common sense.

Well... If you can't tolerate other people having opinions... Forums in general might not be the best place for you?

Personally I don't give two shits about Trump, he has been free entertainment for years, he is a joke on the world stage.

I hope people will see how Bernie Sanders leads in times of panic and actually vote for the damn guy. I'm sorry, I'm tired of people throwing away a great opportunity to bring positive change to the United States. Trump and Biden are not answers to problems, but actually the cause of problems.

Americans generally hear the word "socialism" and shut down all rational discussion...

Recession is the new buzz word that is happening. Interesting times, nations with universal healthcare seem extremely well positioned to handle the issue.

From a first responder perspective, all the rescue agencies I am a part of have been doing regular situational updates, the general consensus is that for the majority of the population who aren't extremely young, elderly or have immune deficiencies will be fine for the most part.

We aren't wearing compressed air breathing apparatus or hazmat suits when dealing with the public though, it won't come to that, it's been blown out of proportion by fear mongering and lack of toilet paper.

Another thread name calling Trump... whatever he does is wrong in liberals eyes.

He could literally cure cancer and he still would be called a bigot misogynist racist transphobic orange clown by Twitter checkmarks.

Its fucking hilarious honestly, last time i checked he was a fucking racist and over reacting for suspending travel from china like a month ago, and now when he bans travel from europe like a month later the reaction is "he didnt act fast enough!"

hahahahaha

Trying to fucking politicize a pandemic (that started on China not even in the USA) instead of working together like we are doing in my country... im not even american and i find this shit hilarious. USA politics have become more entertaining to me than any reality show that i have ever watched.

Who said this?

Oh, and tell Trump to stop making it political.  Calls it a Democratic party hoax at his rallies.  Blames Obama for not having SARS-CoV-2 test kits made.

Probably someone said this. I am tired to correct people, that accuse me of hypocrisis when I say A and they say, but 'you people' said B not long ago. Although I personally never said B. That is the thing, everyone criticising Trump is the same, so if I criticize Trump I am in that moment also all other persons criticizing Trump.

If someone provokes a situation, a response to it is different than if no one in the thread called for such a comment.

If Radek thought the 'Clown' part of the thread title was inappropriate, he could have reported it. And if he wanted to call out someone, it would be the thread creator at best.
Instead he attacked a group of people, and brought up the subject of racism, misogyny and bigotry, while using an example that no one so far seems to have been able to make any sense of.
So there are several things here that provokes a response.

You shouldn't call out people of a certain opinion, if you're not prepared for them to respond.

It's not usually inappropriate to think that a public figure is a certain way. Unless it seems completely unreasonable.
For example if I said that "Shigeru Miyamoto is a pedophile because he makes kids games".
