This military shooter is probably underrated. When thinking about 'Call of Duty', you're thinking about one of the games that made the series as mainstream as it is, but actually, it's the first two games that are most interesting. The first game wins against the second because of the novelty factor. These are thrilling shooters, and they are the best representations of World War II in a video game. The game follows the diaries of three Allied soldiers; an American with missions mostly following events after D-Day, an Englishman around Operation Market Garden and finally a Russian and their advance on Berlin. The final moment of the game is epic and memorable, in the midst of battle, you reach the centre of Nazi government, and help one of you brothers plant the flag of victory, over the Reichstag.

Uncharted 2.
Also, no guesses on my #21 yet, so here's another hint for it.
#21
-The first game in this particular sub-series, set primarily in a Military Academy
-During the game you're periodically sent to investigate an old schoolhouse in the Military Academy's grounds, in which you'll eventually find an ancient mecha called Valimar.
-The third game in this JRPG series was released earlier this year in the west on the PS4.

You are correct.
Was an easy clue I guess.
I don't know much about most JRPGs, so I have no idea for yours.

#31 is correct! #27 is not. You still have to push buttons on all of these Wii games.
#30 is correct! #26 is not. My hint is actually a lot better than it may seem. #25 and #28 are also both wrong. |
#26: Oh, if your hint contains deeper meaning… Steamworld Dig.

Handsome Jack. I mean Borderlands 2.

There probably isn't much I can say about Super Mario Bros. 3 that others haven't before. It's a genuine masterpiece of 2D platforming, with perfect gameplay and level design combined with charming visuals and the often unexpected strokes of genius that makes Mario so great. Whether it's adding the ability to fly to the series, or the wonderfully memorable Giant World, Super Mario Bros. 3 is filled with moments of genuine delight, even after over 25 years since I first played the game, it still remains a thoroughly enjoyable experience, and one I can return to every once in a while without any fear of being bored.

For a person to enjoy the Kingdom Hearts-games one has to accept the fact that the story in them is just inherently stupid and silly, in a very endearing and charming way of course, but stupid nonetheless. It's convoluted and often hard to follow, but despite all that I still have a lot of fond feelings towards the series. My favourite in the series remains Kingdom Hearts 2, as at that point the story hadn't gotten quite as stupid yet, and the gameplay was vastly improved compared to the first game.
The visuals were also great for the PS2, and the music remains among Yoko Shimomura's finest works to date. The mixing of Disney and Final Fantasy characters is still something that shouldn't really work, but somehow it does, and it's awesome.

Correct!!
#25 - Borderlands 2: The first time I played Borderlands, for some reason I didn't liked it. However, one day, I was looking for some action game to play, and decided to give Borderlands 2 another try. And I loved it! The only thing I still don't like are the failable missions, because you have to start over from the beginning, but the rest of the game is fantastic. I love this series!

The antagonist returns somehow and they kill one of your friends. Fortunately you still have many of your old friends, and the one killed returns as a ghost. Unlike it's predecessor, this game is a fully functional 3d world. 29- One of the best FPS's, and the third highest on my list. This game features a completely unique story. In one hand use weapons, and in the other use magical powers. Loot the many objects or enemies for money and ammunition. The setting was once a utopia, but things are starting to get out of control. 28- Another FPS, this time it is from a famous annual franchise. This game in particular had the best zombie mode and multiplayer in my opinion. On one map in the soviet union, you could form 4 perfect circles and beat each wave infinitely. While it wasn't a difficult task at first, eventually boredom and endurance become an issue. |
Reveal!
30- Banjo Tooie Unguessed
An awesome game that had a world connected on one map. The game starts simply with the return of Grunthilda and she kills Bottles in a comedic way. The gameplay is refined with more tricks to do and more puzzle solving. Even though I didn't have a guide or help from anyone, I made it my goal to collect every single jiggy. The music is also quite good and fitting for each level. Truly the best N64 game I have played.
29- Bioshock
The FPS with my favorite story. It was quite fun to combine to plasmids with weapons for some cool combos. Looting stuff in this game felt quite rewarding, and the time period is quite fun. The Story involves radio communication and diary logs which seem to be a lot more popular today, but was quite interesting for the time when it released. The characters and even enemy minions make this game for me with awesome voicing and sounds.
28- Call of Duty Black Ops
Not my favorite FPS of all time, but it came quite close. Unlike Bioshock it has really good multiplayer, but meh story. In this case Multiplayer wins out due to sheer amount of time played in it. I spent 100s of hours playing in multiplayer running around with a SMG or a Shotgun and reaction killing people. The minor items were also fun to play around with like setting a claymore down and the rewards were also fun to receive for help like random care packages or spy planes. Going on huge streaks without doing anything special except having fast reactions is what made the multiplayer great to me. On the other side of the coin is a PVE mode called zombies. One map in particular called Ascension was perfect for running 4 perfect circles. Run over to the box get random weapons, until you get a decent zombie killer and then run around slaughtering each wave. One time me and my friend managed to get 2 others that knew the strategy and we ran around until about wave 45 before we had to go to sleep for University classes the next day.
