Oh dear.

Looks like this is Nintendo's yearly 'fishing for non-gaming audiences' game and I have no problem with it as they're clearly using the LABO approach by separating it from their other endeavors. If I had to guess, I'd say this game is the reason why NDCube didn't release any DLC for Super Mario Party.
The Wii Fit Balance Board was very good, it worked well and it was cheaper than Guitar Hero.
This thing, looks Power Glove level... Apparently it's just a piece of plastic that uses the tech within the Joycon.
I can see this selling well, only if it is very cheap. Brain Age was sold for 20$ initially. I'm expecting somethig similar. $40 tops.

It looks like it's supposed to be the Switch's version of Wii Fit but with a pilates ring instead of a balance board. If that's the case, it's probably going to be anywhere between $70-$90.
People are tired of having so much plastic shit (or cardboard) lying around their living room, this whole accessorie craze died around 10 years ago. Nintendo will keep trying, but I don't see these types of things being anywhere near the success of the pre-smartphone casual era, just like Labo was a dud.
I feel like Nintendo still has this need to try to recapture the glory days of the Wii and DS, but in today's market where a practically limitless supply of "blue ocean" apps are available for free or for a very low price through the smartphone everyone already owns, I'm not sure it's even possible to catch that lightning in a bottle again, unless it's something on mobile like Pokemon Go.

It's more that one of their teams had an idea for this, and Nintendo let them do it. Nintendo gives their teams a lot of creative freedom, so this isn't being made because they want to "relive the glory days". It's being made because the developers wanted to make it. That's how things like ARMS, Labo, and 1-2 Switch get created. They're made because the developers wanted to make them, not because of corporate mandates.
Pretty pointless to release this, should've just waited to release an actual trailer on the 12th for whatever we're looking at here.
