Another day, another timeless quote.

Donald Trump: "If [George Washington] was smart, he would've put his name on [Mount Vernon]. You've got to put your name on stuff or no one remembers you."

Can we get an outside psychologist to check for senility?  Does he really think no one remembers who George Washington was because he didn't name his estate after himself?

Lol, nobody is gonna forget the first President he does not need to name stuff after himself. If he was a random one term President then maybe.

Like when he fires people or they leave his administration. It's always because Trump's an idiot, and never because he holds people to a high standard or they can't stand the heat. I used to work for a company like that. We joked that they should make the front door a revolving door because there were constantly people coming and going, and it's because the company had high standards so they were always getting fired or couldn't stand the heat. Over the years I would hear stories from competitors who had hired some of these people and most of what they told them about our company and why they were fired or left was total BS.

Well yes, Trump fire people because when he ask them to do illegal things or things he does not have the power to do and they refuse, well its firing time.  That is what happens when you put an idiot in charge expecting that idiot to understand how the office work.  Even then, when people want to resign he makes it a point that it's his decision.  When you have an idiot always looking for the limelight then the handling of people within his administration's looks like what you expect from a 3rd grader.  You have countless books that all say the same thing about Trump but it will always be convenient to dismiss them.

You are going to act like Trump has high standards forgetting we see with our own eyes from his tweets and communications, how he handles situations.  The reason it's a revolving door because everyone who has worked for him believe him to be an idiot.  Even the people who do go out the door with a decent farewell decided to leave on his watch for a reason.  I am sure you also forget that Trump is the one who hired these people.  You know the same guy that says he only hires the best, he goes on his gut.  Its the same situation when he claims to know it all.  He knows healthcare, he knows tariffs, He knows energy.  We can look at Trump pass and see how he has nuked pretty much any business that isn't promoting his name.

I am sure based on the 2 1/2 years you can list a whole host of pure qualities Trump has as a leader and I can give you 2 twice as much that shows he is a bungling idiot.

All books aren't non-fiction. Trump likes to say he fired them, and plenty like to say they quit or wanted to. Who's telling the truth? Did they quit for the reasons they say they did? Lot's of book deals for people who like to bash Trump, that aren't selling all that great, and coincidentally plenty of books being taken off shelves written by conservatives as of lately, especially if they sell well. Hmm. I wonder how many people Trump sits down with and hires personally?

Someone mentioned Andrew Yang a few pages back. He's finally getting mainstream coverage https://youtu.be/l9RNdvtuAfA.

That the US citizens voted an idiot as President (Not the first time but probably the biggest).  From the chaos in the white house.  To the clueless administration that seems to be run by the 3 stooges.  From the countless dumb as tweets.  The the division in the US which was already bad enough just amplified by the current idiot. To International relations which wasn't great but probably garbage now and will take who knows how long to repair.  To a tax plan that is currently going to bring us into a nice recession which is going to make the Bush years seem like nirvana.

There is not big division in the US that is being amplified by Trump. There was and always will be conservatives, and liberals that disagree and dont like each other regardless of who is the President. Trump did not change that. From my experience people dont really care if someone is a conservative or liberal because most Americans dont revolve their lives around politics. Imo division is something the media has been pushing and people have started to believe it's a big issue.

International relations have got a little rocky here and there but it wont last long because leaders come and go and other countries are still willing to work in the US regardless since were #1.

I cant tell the future but i doubt a recession is coming up anytime soon. The economy has been stable and wages are increasing faster than it has in the last ten years. Also the GDP has not "boomed" enough for that to happen yet.

Economic analysts are expecting a growth of 1.4-2.1% this year. While not a recession yet, that way below the 3.x% Trump is expecting and that the US had since 2014. The outlook is even more negative, with growth dropping below 1% in 2020.

What I fear is that the recession will only be felt after the next election, and then the Democrats get blamed for it if they win.

And let's not forget Mount Rushmore. Washington's name isn't there, but his face is there for everyone to see.

I wouldn't call it senility, though, just an overly inflated ego. If he where to create Cities, they would most probably be all named Trump Town, Trump City, and so on.

Barr going to be investigating the spying against the trump team, mueller report coming within the next week or so, followed by the IG report. Politics about to get super heated heading into the next election. Going to be interesting to see when the Democrats start going to blows with each other to really kick start each of their campaigns, there's a lot of them and someone has to go. Debates should be good when the field is narrowed down a bit

Now if we are going to talk about if Trump mental state is above 3rd grade level then you have to listen to him on Fox News talking about the boarder.

https://va99teaparty.com/2019/04/10/fox-and-everyone-else-cuts-away-from-trumps-rant-when-he-starts-raving-incoherently-about-trucks-fences-or-something-its-hard-to-tell/

Lol, the fact that people continue to make excuses for this man believing he should ever be in a meeting trying to convey his ideals with that word salad of nonsense just amazes me.

I also love this word salad of nonsense as well.
"We built a lotta wall. A lotta wall. And its two walls. You know, when we rip down and old wall, and then replace it, it's called 'a new wall'. And that's what we've done. A lot of wall is going up and every place we build the wall it's less and less."

Lol, you have to wonder about the people who attend meetings where Trump is speaking and its goes down like the above or world leaders having to stomach listening to him talk thinking, should they get a translator to help with this rambling.
I really cannot wait when Trump is on stage having to debate again. Now that the name calling and grade school wit is old news, it will be interesting to see him rambling like and idiot and people forcing themselves to be the Trump whisperer again.

The funny thing is, I believe Trump administration will have the most books written concerning the inner workings and they will all be entertaining reads.  So far, whether you read a book, hear the rumblings or interviews the common thread of them all is a disorganized cluster F***.  The thing is, this isn't anything new since this is a common theme before Trump was elected with his business.

Also a book selling great or now has nothing to do with the analysis within the books.

As for who Trump personally hires, I would say if he doesn't have direct input in the hiring of top positions then he probably doing what he does best, nothing.  Its like the report we heard in the beginning of his presidency when people would put papers in front of him to sign and he did without reading them.  Hell, we have even recent situations where within his budget plan he has nuked funding for the special olympics and the Great Lakes since he has been in office only to suddenly find out it was his administration gutting those programs.  He even tried to take credit for not gutting them when congress always ignored his budget any way.  Its this kind of lazy stupidity that is accepted today by people who trust in Trump that is comical.

Leaders come and go but policy can last longer.  Some policy are much harder to get rid of or move out of the way.  Since we can still have 4 more years of Trump, his stamp of incompetence can be longer.  The basic issue is that we still have him making policy not knowing how the system works and basically throwing crap at the wall to see what sticks.

As for wages, well if things are changing at the middle end I am not seeing it.  I believe this is happening on the lower end with lower paying jobs and its more a state thing then anything to do with Trump.

GDP doesn't have to boom in order for a recession to happen.  It happens when things burn to bright and institutions cannot support the economy.  Anyway we will see if that occurs since they have talked about it happening for a year or so.

The only negative policy Trump has done on the international stage I can think of was leaving the paris climate agreement but most countries that signed on were not actually following through on what they agreed on.

I feel like he probably contributed because under Obama they never grew this fast and started to grow midway through Trumps term.

I brought up GDP because I remember reading something a few months ago that usually for some recessions the GDP reaches a certain mark or something.

Well you could say that wages are better because of this little nugget.

https://www.nbcnews.com/business/taxes/twice-many-companies-paying-zero-taxes-under-trump-tax-plan-n993046

Or it could be this nugget as well.

https://www.hrdive.com/news/mercer-wage-increases-projected-to-remain-flat-in-2019/530416/

This is more where I am at as pay increase has not spiked at all.  Actually when I started working at the Job I am at, 5% pay increase per year was the bottom you could get.  After there recessions it when down to nothing, during Obama term it gain back to 5% but that ended up being the max and now under Trump nothing has changed.  If anything you see more 1.5 to 2% then 5%.

I believe the key thing is that on the very top end, the savings companies are getting are going to the Top execs and very much not trickling down to lower teir employees.

As far as wages, States have increase the minimum wage which is affecting those stats

As for international relations, We have some more great Tariffs coming from Trump administration which seems to still only punish American business and gain nothing.

The savings are certainly partly going to the top executives, but the other, bigger part nowadays is going to stock buybacks. Those were highly regulated until the 80's since it's an easy way to drive the stocks while doing effectively nothing, and can be easily used for insider trading if you know in advance about them. But during this decade more and more is spent on buybacks, as it drives their stocks to extreme heights.

Trumps tariffs can't work because the imports are mostly stuff the US don't produce at all or in insufficient quantities themselves instead of products others just produce a bit cheaper, as a result it hits the consumers and Industrials as they have to pay more.
