Well what would you rather be called, a thug or a white supremacist?

Anyway, the fact is that there is tremendous racial tensions in the US right now when there really shouldnt be. I blame the media. The US is not a racist country at all. Ill leave it there. Thanks for the discussion

If I was a victim, I'd prefer to be called neither and because I am white, I probably would be called neither.

Tell that to the people who wanted to protect themselves against the mob that broke into their property. Or the woman who was harassed after accidentally bumping into a young girl. Im sure they dont like being called either as well.

Treating any races different is against the law, so no, its not racist. People of all walks of life can be successful in the US. Thats why millions of people from all over the world go there to start a new life every year.

Oof. I'm sorry to have to be the one to break this to you, but discrimination is still a thing.

I know, its hard to come to grips with but we all have to someday. And as they say, the only way out is through.

Discrimination is still a thing, but its not by the government. Every group gets discriminated against by other groups. Thats just human nature.

I mean, thats moving the goalposts first of all. Discrimination can have a large impact even when not perpetrated by the government.

But even still, that just isn't true. Governmental discrimination is still very much a thing.

Gotta agree with that. Although there is always a push to blame only white people for racism, as if other could not be, all countries in all over the world are racist to some degree. It's human nature to see other groups of people in a different way.

Take Brazil for example, it's more of a tolerant country compared to others, always ok with foreigners specially from latin america. Due to all the socialist crazyness in Bolivia and Venezuela a lot of people from these countries flew to Brazil and you started to see them in the streets asking for money, or working under slavery conditions or just roaming around in the cities.

Then a LOT of brazilians, white, black, brown you name it, started to complain about Bolivians and Venezuelans in the country, stealing jobs and robbery and all that bullshit.

Unfortunately it's human nature. That does not mean we don't need to fight it though.

Every US citizen have the same rights. Politicians, police chiefs, mayors, governors etc come in all different races. Not sure what more you want at this point.

What I want is for us to fix the systems which are home to racist practices and ideals (marijuana was made illegal on the back of racist ideals and fear mongering) such as the policing system and the criminal justice system, and for us to provide funding for poor communities in order to ensure that they are given equal opportunities in life. Even when we move forward from our racist practices in the past, the impacts still remain and until we address both the broken, racist systems, and the systems rife for abuse that still exist today, and the consequences of those racist systems and the systems that we have already taken steps to dismantling, we do not have true racial equality and justice and the work is not over.

Stop.  Have you ever once asked the very people that are disparaged by our system how they feel and what they want?  Have you personally talked to any of them?

NO?  Then stop acting like a problem doesn't exist when million of people keep saying it does to them.

If I punch you in the face, I do not get to tell you it doesn't hurt.  YOU determine that.

Your work will never be over. Because by the time anything gets fixed, you have created 20 other issues. Its become a career for people to complain at this point and they dont want to lose their career. So it will never be over.

So you want to hold up progress for millions because a few people make a career out of it?  Do you get how bad that sounds on your part?

EDIT: And do not get me started on the hypocrisy of modern capitalism.

Ok, then give me examples of how people of color have less rights than white people in the US.

I have opinions on a lot of stuff. Like I dont think the earth is flat. I have never been to space to see it for myself, but I still have that opinion.
