That's what I'm talking about; that's what I want to see, that's how you win people. I'm glad Biden is taking these steps, hope isn't lost. Please for the love of God not a public option!!

So... your sick of your community being taken advantage of... and you don’t like the bones the Democratic Party throws you... so you are fine with letting the guy that is actually taking bones AWAY from you stay in office? I mean, it’s your vote, do what you want with it... There is just no way in hell trump is gonna be better for you than Biden. Not in the long term or the short term. Democrats lose in November do you think they are gonna feel regret for not nominating Sanders? Certainly didn’t hear any of that last time. It was just about how Clinton failed and underestimated trump in key states. Not voting for Biden is going to make a statement to yourself and nobody else. If you want to make that statement to yourself great, just don’t complain about trump. |
I didn't say I was okay with Trump, no need to put words into my mouth especially when this entire time I've been vocal against his administration..
And thanks for telling me what I can and can't do regarding complaints like I don't get enough of that dismissive stuff from men on a daily. I should just be a good little girl and shut my mouth up then I guess..

I understand the feeling behind it, but in this case we have an incumbent administration that has actively and successfully taken steps to discriminate and marginalize this very same community. Wouldn't it be better to vote against them in favor of an administration that wouldn't do such a thing? |
Thank you for understanding. I want the democratic party to be the best it can be and I want them to listen to legitimate concerns instead of special interests. Supporting M4A and bolder action against climate change should be a no brainer and would strengthen our party's platform. It's my compromise, I'm willing to vote for an alleged rapist to save my community. Not supporting those positions, I believe, is actively discriminating against my community.

Which political party do you believe you can have the best representation in. The GOP or the Dems. That is the real question you should be asking. Change doesn't happen overnight but there is definitely one party that accept change better than others and also give better chances. The chance to get better representation is the key you are looking for. Not voting is definitely a vote for Trump because the GOP is hopping Dem turn out is smaller. Its why they look for many ways to suppress the vote. Smaller voting pools mean better chance for GOP candidate. |
I believe the Democratic party can be salvaged and I believe in regular everyday people in the party. My problem is the party establishment needs to change and listen to the people rather than special interests. You're right, change doesn't happen overnight. Even if Bernie was the nominee, nothing would change if we, the people, don't organize and put pressure on those in power. It will always be a struggle but I believe the Democrats, once pushed in the right direction, can be something better than it is now. There's no hope for the Republican party, we'll just have to drag them left kicking and screaming.

Thanks for the NYT article! I'll be sure to share that with undecided voters that have legitimate concerns. |
You've been thanking me a lot lately, you're welcome.
This will only be picked up further by the progressive left outlets.

That is positive and how you win the progressive voters. Not the talk about that it is their damn obligation to vote for him. Don't take the voters for granted, make step to woo them and it may work. This is a great step.
Well, look at that:

"But what Biden is proving in this campaign is he’s just as willing to cut deals with the left, and his coalitional approach to politics is an opportunity for them to influence him, as well."
Let's hope so.

In difference to many supporters of Biden in this forum and otherwise, the Biden campaign seems to understand what I was saying with that (not that they listened to me, they got the idea themself, which is good) and weren't feeling entitled to get the progressive vote or demanding it. I want to underline that this is a really great thing and I have to congratulate Biden and his campaign. And this is a major chance for leftist and progressives to bring on some change. Maybe not as much as with Sanders, but it seems Biden is willing to compromise to the left. If that isn't just cosmetics but we see real cooperation over the next months I can see Biden winning the much of the progressive vote.
