Forums - Microsoft Discussion - UPDATED: Xbox to offer All Access

Nah, people finance stuff here a lot. Hell, Walmart used to have a finance company contracted out to work in their stores. Credit cards are for the middle/upper class. But people with less money or small amounts of disposable income per paycheck will finance stuff. You can find businesses doing it everywhere.

Good to know, every time I gone there for travel never seen any financing placard or similar in the places I gone, but it surely could be a preconcept.

Still, considering how much the mobile services with this type of structure sell and people seem to not care that they are paying more, MS marketing and operating good with this idea can give then a very good next gen boost (even more with the backward compatibility, because with "0" games as usual on new gen, it would be harder to offer the "rent" service).

Oh sure.

Sony will never charge for online.

Indie games don’t matter.

Downloadable games don’t count.

Rumble is not important.

Power is extremely important, until Scorpio, now it’s irrelevant.

Etc etc. You’re talking about fans flip flopping to suit their favorite toy maker, which happens all the time on every site, but doesn’t have anything to do with what I said or what I was replying to.

Sure it does.

Why should I take MS fans on this site, who constantly deflect and defend, any more serious than you take Sony fans on this site, who constantly downplay?

All sides have down players. But no other fan base on this site, is as nonchalant as MS fans, when it comes to gaming criticisms.

BTW, a lot of people expected Sony to charge for online.

I don't remember people discounting indie/ downloadable games. Games like Flower & Limbo were constantly cited in list wars back in PS360 days.

There was this site that's apparently shut down called "Facts vs Fanboys" that was always quoted on vgchartz. Even well into this generation. It pretty much said

Only retail games with a metacritic score of _______ mattered. I think it was 80% because great games like Lost Odyssey didn't make the cut.

Kinect and Mobe games didn't count as games until the creators added them at the very end of the generation. Digital games never counted. The narrative was that Xbox didn't have any exclusive games for years. It didn't matter if (for examplee) it had Witcher 2 and PS3 didn't. The rules were laid out.

I didn't agree with the site and, as an owner of both consoles last gen, I always had a reason to fire them both up and play for hours and hours on end. A lot of people here did, though. It was a venomous time and debates were really heated. In a way, I'm a little glad there wasn't a real "war" this generation.

I am actually surprised that this hasn't happened sooner actually.

I think 360 got this during its lifetime

Time to change the title. And see how much it will impact X1 sales.

360 had something similar but by the time you paid it off, I think it cost way more than just buying a console. Some guys did the math back then. Plus you had to make a down payment of like $100.

This is, I'm, a better deal. Mainly because I think Game Pass is a great deal. You can walk in with nothing and walk out with a console. Subscribe to game pass and XBL and after a certain amount of time (two years?) the hardware is yours forever. Pretty much the same deal you get from a cell phone provider, cable company, or Internet provider.

I get Live and Pass free just by doing Microsoft points. This is not a deal at all.

I do the MS points as well, you have to buy a lot of stuff and do many web searches cover Gamepass and Gold.

You're out of touch with the average consumer.

I'm not the most frugal person but I like to think I'm pretty well informed . I've got thousands of Microsoft points from Bing but I've never paid less than full retail for Xbox Live and I didn't even know about the Game Pass option.

People in this thread are might be overestimating the consumer.

Yeah totally. This is a pretty good deal and will be interesting to see if the next Xbox gets it too.

I look forward to seeing what positive impact this has on X1 sale in relation to the PS4/ Switch going forward.

If the next Xbox gets this kind of deal off the bat I’ll sign up day one.
