Star Tropics is the easiest to turn into an M rated game, Donkey Kong would probably turn out as the best game, imagine "Donkey Kong's REVENGE!"

Last edited by Luke888 - on 23 August 2018I don't really need an "M rated" game. You don't need blood or nudity or swearing to entertain me, but you do need to make the content deep and complex. Typically T ratings or lower come with games which don't care.
Zelda already has done a clean "Almost Should be M-rated" game; Majora's Mask. It's a cult favorite in the series and I totally think that clean M ratings would be a fantastic direction for Zelda to go in. The same could arguably be said about Fusion with Metroid, but not to the same extent. Fire Emblem would actually need the rating and to not be clean to make it's point.
Picking one to go true M-rating? Metroid. We might get to see Samus in an imaginary suit. I know I said I didn't need that, but I lied.
Hey, it's a long shot, but I can dream, right?

Didn't realize that Sega was involved. I guess Nintendo's best shot at mature IP really is Metroid.
curl-6 bet me that PS5 + X|S sales would reach 56m before year end 2023 and he was right.
My Bet With curl-6
My Threads:
Master Thread, Game of the Year/Decade
Switch Will Be #1 All Time

How Much Will MH Rise sell?
My Bet With Metallox
I rather they made a new IP.

super_etecoon said: No thanks. Don't need "maturity" in my videogames. That's one of the main reasons I prefer Nintendo. Particularly the games listed in the poll need to remain T at best. It just doesn't serve any purpose for them to add ultra violence, sexual themes, or excessive drug use. |
There are many mature content that doesn't need to be conveyed through gore, sex or drug abuse. That is actualy a very wrong way to look at a content being mature. Usually are teenagers that like these type of content all over the place.

Found this quote from Tetsuya Takahashi of Monolith Soft; "Completely serious though, I would like to do a Z rated game (equivalent of M in America), and just do whatever the hell I feel like doing"

Seems like Monolith Soft is interested.

Yeah, but ratings are oriented on violence and sex. That's why the rating in my opinion is a bad measure to see if a movie, game or whatever is mature or not.

Sure thing, just not sure it was what he aimed at.
Still I guess usually they would give a 14 or 16 years old equivalent classification for mature content that doesn't cover sex, nudity, cursing, gore or drug abuse.

No, the rating only considers if a content may be harmful for a children. For the rating it does not matter if the content can't be understood by the child or doesn't appeal to it.

Well I remember seeing several movies with 14-16 without sex or violence. But sure I may be wrong.
