Very few games nowadays need that much raw power to be great, most of that horsepower is dedicated to things such as graphics. Portability is something that adds a lot to every game.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

What's my choice? PORTABILITY DE WA NAI! PAWAA DA!

I'm no graphics whore, but technology is suppose to advance, not stay stagnated. As a console gamer, PS4 is the perfect choice with its power and the games it gets. I don't have to worry about x game not coming to my hybrid system because of the obvious consequence of it being a portable system. I'm not like those individuals who know nothing about hardware when buying a Switch then complaining when e.g. Monster Hunter World not coming to it or that game that didn't come to Switch because it couldn't handle the number of rats on the screen (lol). Plus, I can barely play on a handheld system as it is. I started Bravely Default on 3DS like 3 years ago and still haven't picked up the 3DS to play it again (I lie. I did play it earlier this year, but there was no motivation to continue.). The 3DS has been right in front of me this whole time. I still plan on finishing it, but I think that will be in 2020. Anyway, power.

I don't care about portability, but at the same time I don't really care that much about power either, what matters to me are the games.

This is what I think, too

Power i guess. Simply because portability is something I don’t have the slightest interest in. When I’m out the house it’s to to outdoor hobbies or socialise with my friends and family. I enjoy gaming in my house on my 55 inch TV and chilling out.

More into just having a powerful system I can sit down and play.

I do bring my Xbox and Switch with me when moving around places, so that is my own way of portability. And I end up only playing games when I can sit down somewhere for a few hours for my long game sessions. Because if I don't have more than two hours free time to play a game, I won't bother playing if I can't commit for long enough. less than 2 hours is not enough time to play a game.

But ACTUAL portability like how the Switch is supposed to be, is completely useless for me, I like the system, but it is not truly portable. I can't play it outside, even at its brightest the Switch can't compete with natural light (even when I'm in shade), and you can't play a game you can't see. There is no social manner where it is appropriate to pull out a Switch and spend an hour playing a game. I'm not going to pull my Switch out to play a game for 10 minutes, that is simply stupid, and anti social.

The only good use of the Switch for me is the few exclusives it has so far, but being able to play Skyrim on the go is simply useless to me. I do own DOOM, Minecraft, and Rocket League for my Switch, but those were gifts and I never play them on the go. I'm not a very anti social person, and pulling my Switch out when I'm out with friends is just rude.

Agreed.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

I think the Switch has been a fine compromise as it is, I wouldn't change it in any way *shrugs*

I think we've seen the extent of this gens Switch third party ports, pretty much confined to Bethesda as is because they so desperately need to update their own creation tools to come in line with current gen hardware

Doom and Wolfenstein II run on id Tech 6, not Bethesda's old Creation Engine.

Its not just about power though, Switch doesn't have the same software.

However, I don't want to play games like Doom and Wolf 2 with Switch's lower fidelity either.
