Which generations should be included

5th gen and down 11 36.67%

6th gen and down 14 46.67%

7th gen and down 5 16.67%

Total:30

I've turned my Wii U into a retro gaming machine (so it still stays relevant :D)

Anyone have experience with Ogre Battle 64? Never tried the series before and I'm itching to dig in!

Honestly 7th gen lasted for a long enough time that I would consider the first portion of it to be Retro.

Perfect Dark Zero for the 360 came out in 2005! The PS2 was still alive and kickin'

tagged.

My prediction in 2021.

SW: 30m

PS5 16m

XBS: 7.5m

They changed the layout since the last time I've visited.

Yeah, and they're still trying to convert all of their old articles onto the new layout.

OK, so before I even get started on how I want the OP to look, I first need to know what you guys want this thread to cut-off at! So, I've picked a few time frames:
1. N64 and below
2. Original Xbox and below
3. Wii and below

This is mainly so I know whether or not 6th and 7th gen games should be part of the discussion here. I'll make it a poll too for this thread.

I'd say 6th gen would be retro now

Question: What would be the cut-off at PC gaming? DirectX 9 (DX 10 came out in 2005, which would be a similar timeframe as 6th gen - but since the 7th gen was still based on DX9 GPUs, that survived for way longer than it should have)? A specific date? Something else?

Yeah, with PC gaming it does get a bit murky as there are no clear lines, I'm not sure where exactly to cut it off. Crysis maybe? Considering the technical showcase it was considered to be.

I've played through most of Link's Awakening, Pokemon Silver, and Kirby's Adventure. I also have a Saturn, but no games or controllers yet.

Almost finished my annual Tomb Raider II run (halfway through Ice Palace at the moment. No medipacks, all secrets of course). After that I think I'm going to dig into a bit of Mega Drive / Genesis action. I grew up with the SNES and I feel I've missed out on a lot. Anyone got any game recommendations? Maybe some hidden gems that don't get mentioned much? I'm familiar with:

- all Sonic, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Shinobi, Streets of Rage, Ecco games
- Landstalker
- Aladdin
