There was a playstation retro sale on the ps4 in the last few weeks here in the EU.... it included resident evil 4.... 5..... and 6 I actually cringed a bit when I seen it, but then I think that retro gaming is completely down to the individual user, some people think that gaming on a tradition gaming device is retro as it needs a TV to play, rather than just a phone screen (seriously, I've suffered this conversation.)
Me personally I always viewed retro gaming as before the turn to 3d, so anything prior to the PS1/N64 basically (3d at 10fps in star fox is still pretty retro) But I'm equally aware that you have people who use this forum who were not alive when the PS2 was the main console in peoples homes, it's terrifying, but that's how it is. Think retro is just down to the person though if you can justify your ideas that a certain game has a retro feel to it like Shovel Knight then it doesn't even come down to what generation those came from, because you won't find Shovel Knight on anything before the PS3/360 gen.
