Forums - Gaming - If you bought Crash N Sane Trilogy on Switch or Xbox One?

I just got to the Road to Nowhere stage. Screw this nonsense. It is long and difficult. I died like 30+. This is Mega Man 9 levels of frustration only Mega Man 9 was more fun. Before that, the game was not that hard. (Except for the Kangeroo which took me 20+ tries.)

(killeryoshis note - Who put that there ?)
Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true. 2nd UPDATE: I have no Switch 2. I am now behind

Crash isn't hard. It's cheap like Flappy Bird.

Flappy Bird? Really? That's a fair comparison? You make Crash sound like the most boring franchise ever conceived.

Honestly Crash is pretty easy, only few levels actually present some challenge. DKC franchise is much more harder than that, and that is excluding all the bonuses stages, which I would consider in the hard category.

Now to think about it, the hardest part of Crash was the really bad controls for the first one, which I get would be annoying, since it really isn't on you.

While I don't exactly find the classic Crash trilogy excessively difficult, I don't know if I'd say that Crash is "pretty easy" or has "really bad controls" either. I'd say that it's a platforming trilogy of average difficulty for me as someone who came out of a time when linear platforming games were really the dominant and most popular genre (okay Crash Bandicoot Warped is easy, I'll give you that), and I would say that the trilogy features responsive controls; especially if you use a control stick like we do nowadays.

I mean if I have to come up with a complaint, it would be that, especially as the franchise went on (like with Crash Bandicoot Warped, for example), the Crash games sometimes got lazy and recoursed to just throwing more enemies at you rather than consistently designing their stages themselves in a way that's increasingly challenging and smart.

planning on getting it for xbox, not too keen on spending $40 on it, I may wait for a used copy or sale. I usually gravitate towards platformers, so even though it is hard, looking forward to the challenge.

Looking ahead and budgeting upcoming new games, cutting corners where it is easiest first.

I've seen some Nintendo fans lose it and do the unthinkable by breaking . I've witnessed this from todays Nintendo streamers it was scary.

And one of them broke his mic for streaming.

I have to think this is manufactured outrage for views because they obviously knew from all the hype and memes and shit last year that these games are considered hard. At least I hope it's fake outrage.

I was referring to it's difficulty being cheap and you seem to agree. As a game I'd obviously put it higher than Flappy Bird. Not as high as Temple Run though.

I think a little differently, the SNES DKC games all seem very easy but Returns and TF seem harder than Crash to me. I think it's a matter of preference and time dedicated to each one though, I'd definitely put Crash in the category of challenging platformer along side Mario, DK, Rocket Knight, Sonic, Wario, Yoshi, Clockwork Knight and many more old platformers. None of them are very hard for the most part, but compared to much easier games that hardly even allow failure they definitely need some practice and will require a player to cope with failures before they learn how to progress. Not that I'm knocking easier games like Spyro, Banjo, Ratchet, Uncharted etc but they are played very differently.

Hmm, I might be unique person, besides Crash 1 annoying/cheap deaths (which I don't know if I should say bad controls or something else), the franchise was pretty straight forward easy for me, namely 3 (which I have 100%). I have yet to replay 2 since 20 years ago,

I think I might just be in the minority, since I do find crash pretty easy or maybe I just do worse in 2D platformers, namely when it comes to light jumps vs long jumps.

I skipped it because I played the games as a kid and remember the controls being absolutely horrible, at least in my opinion. Have they fixed the controls or are they still the same?

I played the original trilogy on PS1 and bought them again digitally on PSP (PSOne Classics). They were good games. Then, I bought the trilogy and for whatever reason didn't enjoy them very much. It's like the new coat of paint didn't "jive" with the old school mechanics or something. I barely played them.

I will say this though. While the original was challenging, it wasn't Rayman hard. It's not Cuphead hard. It's not Super Meat Boy hard. It's not old school Nintendo hard. It's just a nice trip down memory lane for those who liked them back then. Hope the Switch/XBO crowd enjoy it but it didn't do it for me.
