So is it a remake of Yellow or just set in that world?

More a re-envisioning based on Yellow.

Ok, so its not an RPG?

RPG against trainers, but catching seems Pokemon Go like.

Wtf happened to vgc.. this layout.

OT: Day one buying both, like the disgusting Pokemon thot I am.

Just reassured to know the main line one is coming out in 2019. I wish you had to still weaken the pokemon to catch them though... that's a little stupid.

And as for the Go elements, well Game Freak and Co. just announced that over 800 million people downloaded Pokemon Go so take that for what you will.

I mean, it was free. Do you think Sun/Moon wouldn't have gotten 800 million downloads if it was free on iOS/Android?

That’s not my point. There’s millions of Go players (active or inactive) that could potentially find interest in these upcoming titles.

this is technically a situation that Nintendo has talked about for the last couple of years of using mobile to have people exposed to their IP and sway them to try their games on their actual consoles. Sun and Moon didn’t suddenly become the highest preordered game in Nintendo’s history just because of the 20th anniversary celebration alone.

Hmm looks fine as a Pokemon Go tie in. I get what they are doing. Just not sure it's actually gonna attract much of the Pokemon Go crowd. And obviously that crowd is much much smaller than it was back in the summer of 2016. I'm sure it'll sell a few million from the Pokemon brand alone. I enjoyed Pokemon Go for a couple months when it came out, but I'm not looking for a Go version for Switch. I'll be waiting until the real Pokemon comes out next year.

I like that there are no more random encounters in caves. Not a fan of the Pokemon Go catching method. Pokeball controller looks kinda uncomfortable to use but maybe it's not. Not sure if I'm excited about this game, I think I just feel indifferent about it.
I wish we could see something about the gen 8 game but I guess that'll have to wait until next year.

Okay wow

I have never been more disappointed in my entire life.
Couple of questions:
Can I no longer just battle random Pokemon and not catch them?
Does catching Pokemon require you to do some physical moves or is there an option where you can use just buttons on the Switch or at leaste use the touchscreen when playing in handheld mode?

Answer to the first question: No.

Answer to the second question: As far as we know, motion only. And If I had to guess, swipping your finger on the screen for undocked mode.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.
