5th gen wins easily, if we talk all around greatest gen, even if my two favorite games came after. |
Same, probably half of my top 10 games were from 5th gen.

Early year was amazing. Pretty big gap though in the summer. Destiny 2 is better than I expected. I hope Ass Creed picks up its game.
End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)
Wii- 72 million 3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases
360- 37 million Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak
PS3- 29 million Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut
I think the 80's and 90's are looking at this thread and going... fuck that shit lol. Nothing in 2017 is as innovative as the stuff that came out in those eras. Until VR really takes off, nothing will.
Good year for ps4 and switch gamers. Unfortunately, the worst year for xbox gamers.
It's easily the best since 2010, but whether it can top that year (Mario Galaxy 2, Mass Effect 2, Bayonetta, Monster Hunter Tri, Bioshock 2, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Halo Reach...) remains to be seen.
Nothing compares to late 90s when 3d was taking off and new genres and sub-genres were being born, especiallly on PC

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

Not even close, especially after looking at 1998. Even then there are several years with more and better games.
2007 for example.
The 90s had a year or 2 edging this year, and the PS2 gen also had some great years, but this might be the best year since 2010. (GoW 3, Heavy Rain, Mass Effect 2, Bayonetta, Mario Galaxy 2, Darksiders, Transformers War for Cybertron, Fallout:NV, Halo Reach, NFS HP)
Of course that year also had many stinkers (FFXIII, Bioshock 2, Just Cause 2, AvP, Dead Rising 2, AC Brotherhood) so I dunno.

It's a great year if you're PlayStation and Nintendo owner as far as consoles are concerned.
Considering GT Sports will release this year, there is a chance for one of the best years ever

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"
