Pretty good article with some really interesting charts and graphs. For those not in the know, be enlightened. This should put things into perspective.

Figures come from Media Create.

So many numbers.

Japan love their Pokemon and Mario's that's for sure.

Are you threatening me?

How long did it take the 3DS to reach 1.5 mil?

25 or 26 weeks, depending on where you get the numbers from.

Edit - And I should specify, it reached this milestone the same week it recieved a 10,000 yen pricecut.

Trying to mislead me with impressive statistics and figures! I saw those three tweets from grumpy Japanese players that claim to have lost interest due to it being sold out, clearly the Switch is on the decline in Japan.

I really want to see the Switch's sales when Pokemon comes out for it.

Yeah, handhelds typically do better in Japan.

Look at the timing of Sony's devices making the list. Look at the massive contraction of their home and portable market. Look at the rapid changes the Japanese gaming market has taken, and finally look at the Switch.

That's really the only perspective you need on the issue.
