Finished 50cc on all cups including the special cup in Mario Kart World.

Started on the 100cc and finished Mushroom cup - the difficulty increase was actually more surprising than previous games (or it could be bad luck lol). I still managed to get gold but got 2nd in the first race and 3rd in the second race but 1st in the last two races.

The cutscene for the special cup was surprising , did not expect it and thought at first it was the credits lol.

3 hours in.

The game has probably the worst case of rubber banding in the series history. I guess it needs that because of the Knockout Tour mode though. Otherwise you would be racing alone in front for like 10 minutes.

Nope, the rubber-banding lands in a distant second place in series history. It is certainly more pronounced than what we've seen in other games - because good players could always extend their lead regardless of difficulty mode - but Mario Kart 64 is so extreme that it will be the king of rubber-banding forever. In that game the CPU could constantly drive above mushroom-boost speed without even having any mushrooms.

Although in World it's less the rubber-banding that increases the difficulty, it's that the CPU drives better all around. They are looking for more boost opportunities than in previous games and cut the corners tighter. This makes single-player feel closer to online races against similarily skilled players. Additionally, there's just not as much you can do as a player to pull ahead of the bulk with a lot of the racing in GP and knockout modes taking place on long stretches that don't feature many sharp turns. All of this makes it harder to win, hence why 100cc is not a given anymore like 50cc is, and 150cc poses a serious challenge already.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV will outsell Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I was wrong.

wait…are people actually finding the Grand Prix CPUs difficult? I literally swept through not just 150cc, but also [SPOILER mode], in a single run. (i do not intend for this to come off as a brag lol.) MK8D and MKWii was significantly harder than this.

I am really loving my switch 2 so far, but boy does Nintendo need to release a dpad only joycon. Playing SF6 in handheld mode is disgustingly bad. SF6 is a big deal to me, but I really want to be able to play it on the go. Come on Nintendo ( or third parties), give me a dpad only joycon. MAKE IT FUCKING HAPPEN!!

If you have one you can just plug an arcade stick or fight pad into it if you get a may flash adapter even if the stick is for PS4/PS3/PC, in docked mode an adapter is not needed.

Yeeaaa ... No, my early experience with the game gave the feeling that they increased the CPU difficult in comparison to at least MK8DX.

I could do an unmistakable amount of errors and finish first nonetheless. Do the same here and you're likely not getting top 5 if you don't wiff more than a couple of mushrooms before the last section. They just feel way more competent than before.

Anyway, I ain't about to make it into a problem really, cu the single player cups are really just there to warm you up for the online races really.

Not difficult like Dark souls or going on a default armor run in Zelda BotW (like I did lol) but higher difficulty than previous MKs. So far I've finished 4 cups in 100cc and didnt really have that much of a hard time getting gold but annoying instances of being on the wrong end of a shell or two lol.

100cc was too easy in the previous games and 100cc on here finally makes it feel like I'm playing the game at "Normal" difficulty unlike previous MKs where it felt like 50cc was very easy and 100cc was easy.

The good thing is unlocking mirror mode in regards to Grand Prix requirements, only requires you to play 150cc from start to finish, doesnt matter what place you get stuck up in the ending.

I'd say this is great for casual players (like myself) of the series lol.

Speaking of online - I'll try it out, actually enjoyed MK8D online from what I played few months ago.

Knockout Tour is now a staple of the Mario Kart series. Its as important as the Grand Prix now.

I want Bob-Omb Blast. :(

So, I just started the Switch 2 edition of Breath of the Wild... And immediately, I can tell the differences.

For starters, it definitely feels smoother and more fluid. You can tell right away that this runs on 60fps as opposed to 30fps on Switch 1. And there's definitely more pixels and a clearer image to showcase how pretty the game looks... but also the problems it had running at points. I don't know if it's because they haven't quite fully optimized it on Switch 2 or if it's just me, but I swear the pop-in of a lot of stuff like grass, bushes, and other objects in the world are A LOT more noticeable, to the point where it's distracting.
